Saturday Shopping Haul

Hi Ladies!

I went shopping this morning after taking Monty to the vets, hes got a bad ear infection poor thing, so we stopped at pets at home and got him some extra treats and a new cuddly toy. While my dad took him for a quick walk I stopped in a few shops.

First I went to Asda Direct as I noticed some things in the sale. I picked up some wet look leggings for sale for £4 and a cool Marvel T-shirt for £3.

New Look £19.99

So you may know that I'm going on Holiday in October and I've been thinking about what shoes to take.

I've bought a lot of dresses for both day and night, I told my nan I wanted to take something like these boots and she looked at me like I was from another planet.  I'm going in October and I'm obviously going to take sandals as well. So am I crazy to think that these would be nice for the night time, instead of heels?

It doesn't really matter because I've wanted something like these for ages, so they'll get good use.

The other thing I got from New Look is this monochrome dress for £14.99.

I've picked up a few of these dresses from New Look this Summer and I love them.

They're gorgeous and great quality.

I picked this up on my last shopping trip with my Mam and Nan but put it back for some strange reason. Then as soon as I came back it kept popping up on some plus size blogs I follow. So I obviously got really jealous and felt like an idiot. I was luckily enough to find the last dress in the store.

I love it!

Next my dad gave me an early birthday gift, his contract was up, so he gave me a IPhone 4S.

He also bought me this cute phone case from New Look too :-) I've been super spoiled already!

Just to quickly add on to this haul, earlier in the week I ordered this La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo from Escentuals.com . My skin has been awful these last few months and all I seem to be hearing about recently is this brand and this particular product so I thought I'd give it a go. I'll be making up dates over the next few weeks on it :-)

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Things I'd Tell My Teen Self : TAG

Hi Linz....

So....you're how old now? 14? 15?

Well...you have a few tough years ahead of you, so I thought I'd give you a heads up and some info that may help you out.

FAMILY:   Make sure you spend as much time with Mam as you can. Keep talking to her, she's your best friend. Always has been. Don't forget that she'll never judge you. You'll miss her soon, even though she's still there.  Don't question her about the memory loss too much, you're just hurting her. I know you're hearts breaking, mine is too.

BOYS: You know that guy...the one with the spiky blonde hair, green eyes...always wears those bloody studded leather cut off gloves. Well...he's an arsehole to be honest. Yeah. Yeah. You can tell me how great you think he is till the cows come home but hes still a man whore. You deserve better than him. He'll make you cry but don't worry about it for too long. A few years down the line you start to hear things about him that'll make your toes curl and not in a good way. You'll giggle with your friends about him, taking turns on guessing how small his tightie whities are...things like that ;-)

FRIENDS: That girl who you  hang around with and think is your best friend? She really isn't if she makes
you feel bad, she doesn't care about you. The quicker you get rid of her, the better you'll feel. Don't worry, you'll meet a few people soon that'll make you realise what a real friend is like.

LIFE: Laugh more. Cry less. Be strong. Love your body. Take more chances. Remember it's okay to make mistakes.

I know theres some things that you'd tell me that I could benefit from and don't worry I'm definitely going to have a long think about them.

Enjoy those Summer holidays while you can :-)

August Favourites 2013

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

It's the end of another month.

I can't believe I'm gonna be 21 in a few weeks. I don't know whether to be excited or scared!

Anyway...here are a few products I've been loving these last four weeks.

Aussie Take The Heat Leave In Spray

I've been using this heat protectant for years, it's my favourite. It doesn't leave any greasy residue or leave my hair feeling heavy and I pretty sure it dose a great job keeping my hair from being badly damaged from heat tools.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I heard about this foundation for a long time before I actually bought it, I wish I had gave in earlier though. It's a great, long lasting high coverage foundation. I like to apply it with a beauty sponge or my fingers.

Armani Code EDP

This is one of my favourite all time fragrances, I stopped wearing it for a few months but now I'm just as obsessed. It's sexy, mysterious and the honey notes sweetens it up abit

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye Shadow Stick - Bulletproof Beige

I bought this a few months back and forgot all about it but I've been using it as a base for my eyeshadow and it's worked really well. It's a great colour for your inner corner if your doing a golden eye look too. The only problem is I wish it was a mechanical pencil instead of having to sharpen it all the time. I always end up ruining them.

L'Oreal Superliner Black Lacquer Liquid Liner

This is another product I bought about two months ago and I love it. It's a great liquid liner and I'd definitely buy it again as it lasts all day.

Models Own Smokey Eye Kit in Seduce

I reviewed this trio awhile back now and I've recently started using it again. These Models Own Eyeshadow are really good quality, very pigmented and long lasting.

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick - Impulsive Fuschia

I only picked this up last week but I'm in love with it. It's a gorgeous colour with great pigmentation and gloss. It's beautiful on the lips and when it dries, it leaves an even stain on the lips.

The Balm Hot Mama! Blusher

This blush is gorgeous, I won it in a Giveaway in March this year. It's a stunning colour and a quality product. So glad I got the chance to own something from The Balm. They seem like a great brand. I want one of their palettes next :-)

Nails Inc St James Nail Polish

I've been loving red nail polish for the last few months and this month I've been wearing St James constantly. It's a true red and is extremely opaque and long lasting.

Those are all the products I've been using frequently this month!

What have yours been?

REVIEW - L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick - Impulsive Fuschia

Hullo Ladies!

Very recently I picked up my first L'Oreal lipstick.

I've heard lot's about the Rouge Caresse range and how it's always captured and put in the same category as the Revlon lip butters.

I bought one because at the time they were on offer in ASDA for just £6.

There was only a 4 to choose from as the L'Oreal range in that ASDA store wasn't very large.

I picked up Impulsive Fuschia because it looked like the brightest most pigmented of the bunch, which is what I go for when choosing a lipstick.

I love the packaging.

It looks more expensive and dare I say it more grown up than the revlon lip butter or the Maybelline Color Sensational's. Although I love the packaging for all of those lipsticks, someone may decide not to buy them because of the way they look.

My Nan was very dubious about buying her first Revlon Lip Butter because of the packaging.

I was pleasantly surprised when I first applied this lipstick, after reading many posts I knew that these were considered sheer lipsticks. Luckily, this wasn't super sheer and gave me a lovely bright fuschia that really shows up on my naturally pigmented lip.

The texture reminds my of a MAC Lustre lipstick, very slick and moisturising.

You can keep it sheer or build it up for a more opaque look.

The colour is long lasting and gives a lovely even stain.

I have to say I'm very pleased with this lipstick and wouldn't mind picking up some more.

With my experience with the rouge caresse range so far, I'd say it's slightly better than the revlon lip butters in some ways, due to it being very hydrating and a lot more long lasting. I do still love the lip butters,  though some of them are a lot better than others.

Have you tried the Rouge Caresse lipsticks? What did you think?

I'm in need of colours to try :-)

Liebster Award From The Last Broken Road :-)

Hullo Lovely Ladies,

I've been nominated for a Liebster Award by the lovely Gabrielle from The Last Broken Road

What is your favorite book of all times?

I couldn't narrow it down to just one, so I'm going to go with one of my favourite series. The Blackdagger Brotherhood by J R Ward.

Would you rather never wear make up again or be forced to wear 10 layers of it?

Never were makeup again, my skin couldn't take 10 layers.

What is your favorite lyric?

- Body Love by Mary Lambert

What is your favorite quote?

"Nobody looks good in their darkest hours. But it's those hours that make us what we are"
- Karen Marie Moning , Faefever

How do you come up with ideas for your blog?

I usually just talk about what I'm obsessed with of the moment. Like right now it's plus size fashion like ASOS Curve and Inspire. It wont last too long though, something else will come along soon :-)

Most inspirational blog?

My most inspirational blogger is Mary Demetra  from GlitterOdyssey , I found her through Youtube and although she doesn't post often, when she does I always love them. She's such a bubbly and confident person that's very proud of who she is and WOW does she have a great fashion sense.

A celebrity you would want to look like and why?

Rooney Mara

She played an amazing version of Lisbeth in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, shes a great actress who takes her roles seriously and after watching her in the movie I have an official girl crush :-P

Your life in a picture?

Have you ever been to an event for bloggers? If so which one?

Nope.

What is the best drugstore dupe?

Some of the Maybelline Vivids Lipsticks are great dupes for some of the famous MAC lipsticks.

Do you enjoy reading posts like Liebster Awards?

Yes, if they are kept interesting, definitely.

My Questions are :

What's your favourite thing about being a blogger?

If you only had one subject to blog about what would it be? (e.g. skincare, cosmetics, fashion, books, music)

What's your favourite scary movie?

If you could only wear one lip product for the rest of your life what would it be?

What is the book you love so much you can re-read it on a regular basis?

When you feel the need to indulge yourself what do you buy? (e.g perfume, chocolate, clothes, cosmetics)

Who is your favourite celebrity at the moment?

What make up would you choose to wear on a hot date?

What's your favourite movie moment?

What's your most embarrassing moment?

I know it's a bit of a cheeky question, so to be fair I'm going to tell you mine :-P

So...the first date I ever went on was when I was fourteen and I went to the cinema with a friend, her boyfriend and a guy who I really liked and who I'd been talking to for a few weeks. We're sitting together and the movie starts, suddenly my left thigh lights up and my mobile phones starts ringing....and my ring tone happened to be...."If You Like Pina Coladas...." yep. We all know it. The thing is that wasn't the last of the embarrassment. As I stood up to take my phone out of my pocket and turn it off, I forget about the popcorn thats in my hand and I tip it all over my date. Now you know one of the reasons I used that particular picture on the question "Your Life In A Picture?"

The people I'm tagging are :

Hope you all enjoy the questions :-)

Thanks again Gabrielle!

21st Birthday Wishlist!

Hullo Ladies!

My birthdays less than a month away, so like last year, I've decided to make a Birthday wishlist post :-)

1) Chanel Chance

I've been wanting this perfume for ages and whilst out shopping for mothers day a few months back with my brother he promised that he'd get it for my 21st. I plan to do whatever I have to, to make him keep that promise....even if I have to put snakes in his bed....it will happen!

2) MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo

Ever since I began falling in love with cosmetics and the beauty world, i've heard about Ruby Woo. It's probably one of if not the most famous MAC lipstick. It's a gorgeous red that I need to own!

3) NARS Love Thrill Gift Set

This will probably never happen but yesterday I found this NARS gift set on offer and I think it would be an amazing way to try out the brand.

4) La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo

My skin has been awful over the last year and I can't seem to find a product that does anything to help it. Over the last few months though, I've been hearing more and more about this apparently "holy grail" product for a lot of bloggers and I really want to give it a try!

5) Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

I ask for this every year, it's my favourite foundation ever. It's great coverage and lasts all day. It's expensive though so I always wait till my birthday to repurchase it, hopefully debenhams will have a 10% off code around that time as well :-)

6) New Look Inspire Peplum Dress

I found this on ASOS last night and for the price it looks awesome! I've become a fan of peplum these last few weeks and I think this dress would be lovely and flattering for my holiday in October.

7) Sleek Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette

I've been wanting this since it came out, all three colours look gorgeous! I'm a big fan of the sleek blushes and hope to pick up a few more soon :-)

8) Inspire Leather Look Jacket

Everyone talks about a leather jackets is a basic essential in everyone's wardrobe but real leather jackets are priced around a £100 and all though I know they're probably worth it and will last for years. I don't want my first want to be that expensive. What if I don't like it after the first couple of weeks? So I found this faux leather on the new look website and I'm definitely going to try it on in store sometime soon.

9) Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner

This is my holy grail eyeliner but my pot dried up a few months back and I've been missing it terribly. I'm hoping to pick it up soon, either this or try MAC's blacktrack which I've heard is also a great liner :-)

That's everything I can think of that I'm lusting after for my birthday!

What are you lusting after for you birthday? Or if it's just past, what was your favourite gift?

Collective Haul : August 2013 - ASOS, Newlook, George and more :-)

Hullo Ladies!

I haven't hauled for awhile, because of personal reasons I don't get out much lately. The last few weeks though I've been picking up little things here and there and yesterday me, my mam and my nan did a big shop for a holiday were going on in October.

I picked up some nice things so I thought I'd do a collective haul :-)

In the ASDA sale I picked up this basic grey dress, It was originally £10 down to £5. It's an easy piece to wear and you can dress it up easily.

I've been looking for a nice denim jacket for ages but all the ones i've seen have been either too overpriced or actually really uncomfy.

I'm in love with this one though, it's comfy and it looks great with a lot of things, I can't wait to wear it with some dresses on my holiday!

Next is this amazing Kimono from New Look.

I first found the kimono in the inspire section for £22.99 which although I could afford, it seemed slightly overpriced for me. Having a look around, I found it again in the main line also in a size 18, exactly the same piece, but only £19.99, I hate when that happens! So if your a plus size gal and you happen to see this kimono in store check out the new look main line first a see if you can find one in there that fits you, kimono's are made big anyway so you have a good chance and it'll save you a few pound.

I made another ASOS order last week :-) I'm obsessed!

I ordered this dress as it was on sale for just £12.50 and I've seen it loads of times on tumblr!

It's a gorgeous little black dress and I'm excited to wear it on a night out :-)

I also ordered a black skater skirt from ASOS too but I've worn it already and I couldn't take a photo of it because it's in the wash. It's just a simple black skater skirt.

A few weeks ago whilst looking for a present for a friends birthday, I found this lovely bag from ASDA that will be great to take away on holiday with me. It has really interesting fringing and for £7 you can't go wrong :-)

I'm loving belts lately, I think they always finish off an outfit for me.

I picked up three waist belts in the New Look sale, and a pack of two glitter skinny belts from asda for £3.

They're all gorgeous, I love them!

In asda I also picked up my first L'oreal Caresse lipstick on sale for £6 and I'm in love with it, I'll be reviewing it really soon!

I also stopped in Poundland and was really wonderfully surprised to find some Sleek and Revlon lippy's. I got my first Revlon Kissable Balm Stain for a £1. Yay me!

I like one of the sleek lipsticks I bought, a bright purple called Amethyst, but the other colours really weren't for me.They were only a pound each though so i'm not upset over it.

Last but not least I picked up this funny little necklace from New Look for £2.50.

So that's everything I bought this month, I found some great things to take on holiday!

Have you found any good deals in the end of summer sales?

TAG: Get Your Freak On

Hullo Lovely Ladies

Not so long ago I used to do TAG's frequently but lately I haven't found any that interest me. Until I read Puteri's latest tag post :-)

Make sure to check out her blog and follow!

Images taken from Google

What's Your Nickname Only Your Family Calls You?

Linzi Lou, which is actually more interesting than it sounds as it's the beginning of a little poem my family made up about me when I was a toddler.....it's too shaming to repeat on here though :-)

What's a weird habit of yours?

Hmmm....I can't get into a bed that's unmade. I have to make it first and then get into it to sleep.

Do you have any weird phobias?

Yes! I have a small case of  what I think is Phagophobia, which is a fear of frost and ice. In my case, I can't stand the sound of these things. Whether it's walking in snow, someone chewing on an ice lolly or just reaching into a freezer. Even just writing about it now means that I've come out in goosebumps. My family finds it hilarious obviously. :-)

What's a song you secretly love to blast out when your alone?

Whitney Houston music, especially if I'm getting ready to go out for the night :-) "Iiii Just wannna dance with somebooody"

Images taken from Google

What's one of your biggest pet peeves?

Spitting.

What's one of your nervous habits?

Biting my lip, I swear that I've constantly got teeth marks on my bottom lip....and not in a good way ;-)

What side of the bed do you sleep on?

The left side :-)

What was your first stuffed animal and what was its name?

It was a big brown teddy bear with a red bowtie.
Hes still sitting on the top of my wardrobe, except hes missing some hair and an eye. He is simply called Teddy.

What's the drink you always order at Starbucks.

Funnily enough, the only time I drink Starbucks is the Autumn and Winter, whilst Christmas Shopping :-) So I always have a Gingerbread Latte and I insist that you try it when you get the chance!

What's a beauty rule that you always preach but never actually practice?

Washing my makeup brushes, I don't do it nearly as often as I should. :-(

Which way do you face in the shower?

This may seem strange but thinking about it, I face away from the shower when I'm happy and into the shower when i'm sad. Anyone else do this??!

Do you have any weird body habits?

Hmmm....I can pick up things with my feet. Although I think many people can so I doubt it's that weird! LOL!

What's your favourite comfort food that's bad for you but you love to eat it anyway?

Chocolate.....specifically the Galaxy kind :-)

What's a phrase or exclamation you always say?

As a Welsh girl there is many funny phrases I say on occasion, "I'll be there now, In a minute." "Whose Jacket is that Coat?"  "Where to she now?" It's shocking really but the ones I constantly use are, "Ta" which although doesn't mean "thanks" it's what we usually use. Another is " Mochyn" which means Pig. Last but not least is Cwtch "Fancy a cwtch?" looking at urban dictionary apparently hasn't really got an English equivalent except for "safe place" which in my eyes is exactly what it means. You want a cwtch when your upset or just need abit of TLC :-)

When it's time to sleep, what are you wearing?

Well that's very personal...lol just PJ's really, anything that I find that's warm and comfy.

What did you used to wear that you though was cool but now realise really was not hot?

Hmmm....I can't think of a particular thing but only recently have I become interested in fashion and how my clothes look. I didn't really know what looked flattering on me. The one thing I'm trying to step out of now, is wearing jeans constantly. They can look great at times I'm not saying anything different but for a long time they were the only thing I wore. So now I'm starting to expand my wardrobe with dresses and skirts and taking a break from jeans :-)

So there you go...thats the Get Your Freak On Tag!

I TAG everyone who reads this :-P

Link me your post if you actually do!

Eau My Giddy God : Roberto Cavalli - Just Cavalli EDT

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

I seem to have a thing for Roberto Cavalli fragrances, each one I've tried I've loved.

Just Cavalli was released February this year (2013).

It's categorized on Fragrantica as a Floral fragrance, but don't be put off as it's a lot more interesting than that.

My mother bought me this perfume a few months back and it first even though I liked it, It wasn't something I loved. Then after wearing it a few times it really grew on me and now it's a favourite.

It's a sexy, mature scent.

One of the interesting things about this perfume is that it only contains three notes.

 Neroli

Tahitian Tiare Flower

Palisander Rosewood

Another interesting thing is that although it's an EDT, the lasting power is amazing. I used it for my Mothers Birthday dinner and I can still smell it on the coat I wore that night.

So that's Roberto Cavalli Just Cavalli fragrance, it's definitely worth a try if your a fan of scents like, the original Roberto Cavalli, Alien or Armani Code.

Have you tried this fragrance?

What's your favourite perfume at this moment?

NOTD/REVIEW - Leighton Denny - Indulgence

Hullo Ladies!

It's been awhile since I did a NOTD post but I wanted to show you this Leighton Denny polish that I've been wearing constantly for the last few months.

I love bright colours in the Summer but sometimes instead of wearing a bright blue or neon orange I want something a bit more classic..

That's when I break out the red nail polish.

Indulgence is sexy, dark and goes with everything.

I picked this up in a set from TK Maxx at a good deal and it's worth looking there before you go out paying full price.

The application is great and it's looks amazing with just two coats.

It's best to use a top coat to seal it in as like most nail polishes it will start to flake after a few days.

You can buy Leighton Denny online at Marks & Spencers or on the QVCUK website.

Have you tried Leighton Denny?

Do you have a favourite?
