September Favourites 2013

Hullo Ladies!

It's October :-) I'm super excited! Is it time to watch Hocus Pocus yet? Please say it is!

Not as many favourites as usual this month but as I received lots of goodies for my birthday this month I'm gonna take a guess and say next months favourites is going to be a lot bigger :-)

So here they are!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo -  I've been using this for over a month now and I really like it. I use it once a day, usually before I go to bed and I find it helps with blemish. I haven't magically stopped getting them and they don't vanish like magic as soon as I apply this but I really think it helps.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation -  I'm in love with this foundation! It's one of the best drugstore foundations I've tried and I'd definitely be repurchasing it. It's medium coverage and long lasting. I find it works great on my dry skin.

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner in Black Ink - I seem to always be talking about this product so I wont say much about it now. Just that I love it and I'll always repurchase.

Nails Inc Nail Polish in Chelsea - I'm pretty sure I got this in last years Lucky Dip although I can't be sure. It's a  very dark plummy red that really just looks black on the nail. I'ts gorgeous though, a great Autumn colour. I feel very sexy wearing it ;-)

Burts Bees Acai Berry Lip Balm - I love Burts Bees lip balm and as the colder weather gets here my lips get dryer by the day, this balm has been my saviour in the month of September. It's worked wonders for my lips, like I knew it would. Burt Bees lip balms are definitely holy grail products for me.

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask - I recently picked this up in my latest skincare binge and I'm so glad I did. It works wonders and I don't care how many times my family laugh at me when I come down the stairs with it on. I'll be reviewing this beauty soon!

So that's everything I've been loving this month. Whats been yours?

Autumn Favourites From New Look Inspire

Hullo Ladies,

I've always been a big fan of New Look, they're a high street brand with great prices and always very beautiful pieces.

I picked this dress up the other day but put it back for some silly reason. I wish I'd bought it now after seeing it an a few posts from some of my favourite bloggers. It's gorgeous and I'll hopefully be buying it very soon.

£14.99

I love this colour and with the gold detail it looks super cute. Can't go wrong for that price and if it looks good on, I may pick one up in a different colour.

£12.99

This jacket was in my Birthday Wishlist post and I just can't stop thinking about it. I need it in my life....soon!

£39.99

So cute! I love knitwear in the winter.

£19.99

I know I said not long ago...."I'm fed up of wearing jeans" but after looking at mine the last few weeks, I'm in need of some new ones. I love the look of these high waisted skinny.

£22.99

How stunning is that blouse?!

I think it would look stunning with those jeans.

£17.99

Look how comfy and warm it looks, definitely going to wanting this when the weather gets colder in the next few months.

£24.99

I'm loving skirts lately and this is one is so pretty. I think it would look really cute with that heart jumper.

£12.99

I have a few graphic tee's like this from New Look, super comfy and well made. You can't go wrong for that price.

Also...it's a doggy with a flower in it's mouth! How can anyone say no to that?!

£7.99

Nothing says more hard core than a leather skirt right? I feel like i've seen them everywhere this year and I really want one. I think it'll give you such a confidence boost on a night out because who wouldn't feel sexy in one of those?!

So those are my Autumn favourites from New Looks Inspire range.

I haven't been contacted by anyone to do this obviously, this just shows how obsessed I am with buying clothes at the moment :-)

Are you a fan of the New Look Inspire range?

What's your favourite clothing to wear in the Autumn/Fall?

My Favourite and Least Favourite Box Hair Dyes!

Hey Ladies!

I've been dying my hair since I was 12, some of you a probably thinking that's way too young but I had a good reason at the time. When I started Comprehensive School at Eleven I was diagnosed with JIA. Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, I have to say it's a horrible thing to have whatever age you are but when you're just starting a new school it was a pretty horrible time for me. So after a year of barely being in school due to hospital appointments and operations, I decided that I needed to make a change.  My Mam has always dyed her hair and after explaining why I wanted to she agreed and that's when I got my first taste of having red hair!

All this time later I still love going back to being a redhead, It just feels so liberating to me.

So you may say I've tried a few hair dyes in my time. One thing to point out though is that I've never bleached my hair and wouldn't have a clue on how too! :-)

Here are some of my favourite dyes to use and ones that I've learnt do not work for me!

My Faves!

L'oreal Feria - Gives great, intense colour. Definitely one to try if you're a fan of red hair. My hair feels shiny and soft after i've dyed it which is a great thing. I've had many compliments after using this dye, many from women who have a hard time keeping an intense red shade.

L'oreal Casting Creme Gloss - Just recently used this line and I have to say it has lovely brunette shades. They've just released a few more that look amazing!  I've had no problems with this line and I'd definitely keep using it.

Clairol Perfect 10 - Great if you have to be quick, it definitely does what it says.  It's slightly less comfortable when on and can be a bit itchy than the others but I put that down to it being faster acting. Some lovely shades.

Least Faves!

Garnier Olia - I've tried this one a few times but I always come back with the same results. The colours good but I always have greasy hair when I've washed it out and every wash after that my bath water turns colour and I stain my towels. It's a pain to be honest and I won't be repurchasing.

Live Color XXL - I also get stains from this dye to but not only that I find it very uncomfortable when using and I find that it becomes dull after a few washes.

Dyes I want To Try

John Frieda -  I haven't tried any of the John Frieda Hair Colouring line but I've heard some good things so it's on my list, the one problem is that the colour range isn't very large.

L'oreal Mousse Absolue - Another one I'm excited to try and I love the look of the red shades. It seems like a great product and though it's more expensive than the other dyes I buy, I'll be picking it up on offer at some point :-)

This is just my own opinion though, have you tried any of these dyes?

Do you have a favourite line that you use?

May Favourites 2013

Hullo!

Another month has flown by and were half way through the year already.

Here are some of the products I've been loving in the last month.

Palmers Cocoa Butter  - I was late to the whole Palmer Cocoa Butter hype. I finally smelt it when I found a tester in a magazine. I couldn't believe how good it smelt. As soon as I ripped the tiny packet open I knew I wanted the biggest bottle I could find. It's amazing. Its mousturizes and softens the skin whilst smelling delicious! I've Often seen it on sale in places like Superdrug, Boots and ASDA so have a look around. I'm sure I picked my 400ml bottle up in Asda for about £2!

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Lace - I've talked about this quite often on my blog since I bought it. The sleek blushes are amazingly pigmented and inexpensive. A big range of beautiful colours too. I want so many of them :-) You can read my review - Here

L'oreal Superliner Black Laquer in Vinyl Black   - I bought this a few weeks ago after hearing great things about the L'oreal liquid liners. I've been wearing it everyday since. It's a great liner and lasts all day whilst staying extreamly black, no grey-ish tinge with this one!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze  - I've heard a lot about the Maybelline Color Tattoos since they came out but never took the plunge until Superdrug started the latest 3 for 2 offer. I picked up the one that seems to be most talked about which is On and On Bronze. It's a gorgeous colour and I've been wearing it constantly since I bought it. I'm deffinitly going to look into getting more of these.  Will be reviewing soon.

Maybelline The Colossal Smokey Mascara - I'm a big fan of BIG mascara brushes and The Colossal Mascara's from Maybelline of always been a firm favourite. I don't see much a difference between this and the original but I like it just the same. It gives my lashes great volume and I don't find that it clumps if I put that extra coat on for a night out.

OCC Lip Tar in Pagent  - I won this in a Giveaway recently and I was super excited to try it as i've heard so many good things about the OCC Lip Tars. I recently found out you can get them on the Selfridges website which is great. They're slightly pricey, cheaper than MAC but I wouldn't call them Drugstore prices. I think they're worth it though. Pagent goes on beautifully, lasts for hours, feels comfortable and stains evenly. Everything you could wish for in a lip product. It dries matte too which I really like as I prefer a Matte bright lip colour.

The Body Shop Mango EDT - I picked this up in March and have been wearing it constantly ever since. I'm nearlly finished which is sad but not too upsetting as you can get them for a great price. They are £8.50 for 30ml but you constantly have offers instore and online. I've smelt the Shea and Strawberry ones too and want them. They're not the longest lasting maybe 2 - 3 hours on my skin, longer on my clothes but much better than the body mist versions they released last year. Another great thig is that the bottle is tiny and is easy to keep in your handbag for when you need touch ups.

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette - I waited so long before I bought this. Way too long. It's amazing. A beautiful palette that can be used for daily wear or for that special night out. I'm in love with it. I'm using it everyday. I'm not going to be like everyone else and tell you if I think you should buy this or the UD Naked palette because I seriously think you could have both. Well...if you can't get enough of the neautral's like me you should ;-)

So those are my favourites for this month :-)

What where yours?

My Favourite Spring Nail Polishes

Hullo Ladies

I haven't talked about nail polish in ages so I thought I'd do a post on my favourites for Spring, these are polishes that I've been loving in the last few weeks.

Even though this is a "Favourites" post, these are in no particular order.

Leighton Denny - Plush Pink. I'm wearing it now and it's my favourite pink polish. It's gorgeous and goes on really nice and smooth. Usually I get fed up quickly with a nail colour and change them day to day but I just love the way this looks that, shockingly, I keep it on for days at a time!

Nails Inc Sprinkles - Pudding Lane. I love Nails Inc but this must be the most interesting one out my (rather large) collection. It's so amazing and I love it for when the suns out and I can show it off at its best.

GOSH Special Edition - Lavender Love. I don't know if you can still get this but If you can find it in your local Superdrug I suggest picking it up. It's a gorgeous lavender blue. It's beautiful on the nails.

Ciate - Bon Bon - I don't know if this is in the actual range as this came free with a magazine about a year ago (sorry!) It's a gorgeous nude though and I believe Ciate have a few of those in their line. It's a very warm toned nude which I seem to prefer.

Maybelline SuperStay - Mint For Life. I decided to buy a mint polish a few weeks ago for Spring and picked up this. I really like the Maybelline Nail polishes and will be picking up some more in the future. I love this colour and will probably be wearing it throughout Spring and Summer.

So those are my favourite Spring Nail Polishes.

I'm off to go paint my nails with Pink Plush!

Hope You Are All Having A Great Weekend :-)

April 2013 Favourites

Hullo ladies!

It's the beginning of a new month, so I've taken some time to think back on what I loved in the month of April : Beauty wise.

Garnier Moisture Match in Goodbye Dry

I reviewed this recently and as you may notice I've nearly run out of it. I've already repurchased it and I'm so happy I've found a moisturiser that works for me personally.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

I've recently been on a foundation binge....as well as blusher and lipstick *Ooops*.....and I picked this up because I heard so much about it through beauty bloggers. It's a great foundation and although not my exact colour match its very close and workable. I love how it just looks like skin.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal to Dry Skin

Another foundation I'd heard so much about I just had to try it atleast once. I've been loving the coverage. A lot of people say its full but I'd say it's more a high medium as I don't think it covers everything. It's great for covering redness but I still need a concealer for blemishes and under eye circles. I still really love it though and will probably re-purchase once I run out.

Maybelline Colorsensational Vivid in Neon Red

I'm in love with the colorsensational vivid range but Neon Red is probably my most worn this month. It's a gorgeous orange toned red that would fit most skin tones. It's beautifully pigmented and I reviewed it here

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya

Recently I jumped on the "Lip Butter" bandwagon and  one I picked up was the new Juicy Papaya colour. At first I was slightly disappointed it wasn't that pigmented but then I realised it looked gorgeous in its own or on top of a more pigmented lipstick.

The Balm Hot Mama Blush/Eyeshadow

I recently won this baby in a giveaway and I was so happy about it because I've wanted it for the longest time. It's a gorgeous peachy colour with gold shimmer running through it. Beautiful!

Diesel Loverdose EDP

I purchased  this lovely perfume in the Post Christmas Sale and I've been loving it this Spring. It's a gorgeous sweet licorice scent. It last's a good time and the bottle is amazing :-)

What have been your favourites in the last month?

July Faves!

Hullo Lovely Ladies!!

It's the first of August today and like always I used a large range of products last month and I've chosen a few of the things that I've repeatedly reached for in my everyday routine.

Cosmetics, Body and Accessories.

  • Strawberry Body Butter  - The Body Shop  - Review
  • Satsuma Shimmer Lip Balm - The Body Shop
  • Cream Puff Lip Cream - Fairy Cake  - Collection 2000
  • GOSH - Eye Trio in Sense (Found in my Superdrug Clearance box for £3, really nice and pigmented)
  • Earring Set - New Look (I've been mixing and matching these, for £2 they were a good find!)

Nails

All Nails Inc Nail Polishes this month, basically because of the TSV set I bought recently :

  • Portobello
  • Porchester Square
  • Pudding Lane  -  NOTD

Fragrance

  • Love Ect...  - EDP - The Body Shop - Review

This is a gorgeous, sweet scent without being immature.

I'm starting to run out of it, so I'm looking out for a good voucher code to re-purchase it with :-)

Tools

I've been using the MAC 266SE eye liner brush a lot this month, I had it in a set last Christmas and I'm really liking it :-) It's tiny which means it would be great to take away in a travel bag!

Books

Books are something I haven't included before on my monthly favourites posts. Even though I read every day! I'm a total romance whore when it comes to books. These two are both re-reads, first up is:

J R Ward's Dark Lover, which is the first in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series.

It's a series I have been following for a long time and wait impatiently for the next novel every year :-)

I'm planning on re-reading the whole series again!

This novel focuses on Wrath, the only pure blood vampire left on the planet and how he grants his friends last wish by bringing his half-breed daughter into the world of the undead....ohh but it's so much more than that!!

J R Ward writes probably the best dialogue I have ever read. It can go from being funny to heart warming then to just down right HOT in seconds. If you like your Paranormal romance novels then this is really worth the read...the whole series is as the books just get better and better...and I promise, there are no sparkly vampire boys in this. Just kick ass, tattoo sporting, hot ones!! :-)

Next is The Bride by Julie Garwood.

The total opposite to the J R Ward novel.

This is a historical romance set in Medieval Scotland, where Laird Alec Kincaid is told by his king to marry an English bride.

Julie Garwood is one of my favourite historical romance authors, when she talks about Scotland its like you're their.
The dialogue between the main characters is done very well and there is some very funny scenes between the sisters.

I always feel great satisfaction when finishing one of her novels because she writes true love so well, it's not sickly sweet and you can't tell what the plot line is from a mile away which is always a good thing :-)

Hope you are all having a great day :-)
