Christmas/New Year's Nail Favourite

These last few weeks I've had a favourite duo for my nails and that's GOSH Nero and Nicole by OPI's Nicole's Nickle.

It's a simple Black base with a glitter packed gunmetal on top.

I'm in love with the way it looks and these picture don't do the sparkles justice.

I picked up Nicole's Nickle in TK Maxx awhile ago  I can't seem to find this one on the Superdrug Website but I did find 'Luke Of The Draw' which looks really similar.

Sadly I can't find Nero either but that can easily be duped.

Most of us have a favourite black nail polish

I really love this nail look and I can see myself wearing it all through the next coming weeks!

Do you have a favourite nail polish/look you like to do around the Christmas Season?

My Favourite Spring Nail Polishes

Hullo Ladies

I haven't talked about nail polish in ages so I thought I'd do a post on my favourites for Spring, these are polishes that I've been loving in the last few weeks.

Even though this is a "Favourites" post, these are in no particular order.

Leighton Denny - Plush Pink. I'm wearing it now and it's my favourite pink polish. It's gorgeous and goes on really nice and smooth. Usually I get fed up quickly with a nail colour and change them day to day but I just love the way this looks that, shockingly, I keep it on for days at a time!

Nails Inc Sprinkles - Pudding Lane. I love Nails Inc but this must be the most interesting one out my (rather large) collection. It's so amazing and I love it for when the suns out and I can show it off at its best.

GOSH Special Edition - Lavender Love. I don't know if you can still get this but If you can find it in your local Superdrug I suggest picking it up. It's a gorgeous lavender blue. It's beautiful on the nails.

Ciate - Bon Bon - I don't know if this is in the actual range as this came free with a magazine about a year ago (sorry!) It's a gorgeous nude though and I believe Ciate have a few of those in their line. It's a very warm toned nude which I seem to prefer.

Maybelline SuperStay - Mint For Life. I decided to buy a mint polish a few weeks ago for Spring and picked up this. I really like the Maybelline Nail polishes and will be picking up some more in the future. I love this colour and will probably be wearing it throughout Spring and Summer.

So those are my favourite Spring Nail Polishes.

I'm off to go paint my nails with Pink Plush!

Hope You Are All Having A Great Weekend :-)

My Top 5 Red Lipsticks

Hullo Ladies!

As the sun is shining today and the bright lippy's are out I thought I'd show you my top 5 red lipsticks :-)

All these lipsticks are ones I love and would repurchase :-)

They range from all different price ranges from high street to high end,

From L- R  =  MUA It's A Situation, GOSH Hot & Sweet,  Dainty Doll Saucy Sailor,  M.A.C Red and Maybelline Neon Red.

MUA It's A Situation Lip Boom

. I reviewed it not long after I bought it and I loved these lasts months as It's a great vampy berry red lip for the Autumn/Winter. It's a matte formulation and is actually a lot more darker than my camera picked up today. Here is the link to the review. This lip stick is priced at £3 in Superdrug and on the MUA website.

GOSH Hot & Sweet

I picked this up in the Superdrug clearance for around £3. It's not on the Superdrug website but you might be able to find it in your local store. It''s another gorgeous berry red and it goes on very slick which can sometimes cause bleeding so I like to blot it with some paper when I wear it.

Dainty Doll Saucy Sailor

The Dainty Doll range has been really popular over the last few months as they're being sold extremely cheaply right now. They are great quality products and are worth checking out if you haven't yet. I bought this in TK Maxx and I adore it. It's a stunning long wearing red lipstick that's great for a night out. I'm loving this lipstick at the moment.

MAC - M.A.C Red

I bought this nearly two years ago now, to wear to my friends eighteenth birthday party. It was my first red lippy and I loved it at first sight. I was going to pick up Ruby Woo or Russian Red but I didn't like how drying Ruby Woo looked at the time and I couldn't find Russian Red. I did find this beauty though and it's been a staple ever since. I love it. You can buy this at MAC counters and on the MAC website for £14.

Maybelline - Neon Red

This is a recent purchase but I'm already in love with it. I was slightly worried how a yellow/orange toned lipstick would look on me but I'm just in love with it. It's a great daytime red for the summer. I can see myself loving this in the months to come.  You can buy this for £7.19 in Boot's and Superdrug.

So those are my top 5 red lipsticks!

What are yours?

March Favourites 2013

Hullo Ladies!

It's the end of another month :-)

I can't believe we are a quarter into the year already!

Here are some of the products I've been reaching for continuously in the last four weeks.

 Hair

Aussie Take The Heat Protection Spray - Reviewed Here - I've been using a lot of heat on my hair the last few weeks and I feel like this has been by my side the whole time. I really think it's helps keep my hair protected from the heat and also helps with smoothness and shine.

Percy & Reed Colour & Shine Shampoo and Conditioner - These were free in Glamour Magazine this month and I'm so glad I got to try them, the shampoo really cleanses my hair and the conditioner makes it extra soft! I don't think I'd pay the price for them as they are quite over my budget but they have been a lovely treat for my hair!

 Makeup & Nails

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - I've been in love with this foundation again this month, I'll be reviewing it soon. It's the first foundation the actually matches my skin colour perfectly!

MAC Fluidline in Rich Ground - Reviewed Here- I just love this liner, it's so gorgeous! It's great for days when you just don't want to wear the usual black or brown. Look's amazing on it's own or with some shadows.

Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart - I recently spoilt myself and bought two Revlon lip butters, I'd been drooling over the range for months but just hadn't taken the leap. I'm glad I finally did, I'm in love with them. I've been wearing Sweet Tart most of this month because it's a gorgeous pop of colour for spring!

Dainty Doll Blush in My Girl - Dainty Doll products have been talked about a lot this month due o Fragrance direct and TK Maxx selling them at amazing discount prices! I picked a few things up from TK Maxx last month *check out the post - Here*  and this gorgeous pink blush was one of them.

GOSH Nail Polish in  Lavender Love -  This is a gorgeous special edition periwinkle blue nail polish from GOSH. I bought it in the Clearance box back last year with a load of other GOSH makeup. I hope they do it again this year as I found some amazing offers :-)  I been loving this colour for Spring. It's bright and looks very flattering on the nails.

 Skin Care

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes - I usually just use baby wipes to take of my make up as they're a lot less expensive but when I saw these on offer I decided to test them out. I'm really liking them and feel that they give me a more intensive clean than baby wipes.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter - I've been using this as a face cream this month and It's worked wonders on my dry skin but If I don't use it for a few days in a row the flakes come back so I've worked it into my routine now to use just before applying my makeup.

Perfume

Marc Jabobs Oh! Lola EDT - Review Here - A gorgeous perfume for spring, it's fruity and floral but very young a fresh. A unique scent with amazing packaging!

The Body Shop Mango EDT - Some new EDT's have been brought out in all the original Body Shop scents, this is the Mango one and it's smells amazing. I just want to eat my wrist when I apply it! I've gone through loads of it already so I know I'm going to be picking more up when I run out. It's worth checking out next time your in the store!

 Book Of The Month

J R Ward Lover At Last - This is a novel that I've waited four years for. It's a series that interlinks through a large group of vampires. Vampires known as the Blackdagger Brotherhood. If you are into Supernatural romance novels or romance in general then I highly suggest giving this a go. There is some violence, sex and swearing so if that may offend you then you may want to pass. It's a great book though, telling the romance of Qhuinn and Blaylock two male vampires who fall in love. It's the first m/m pairing in the series and the author did it very well. She gave them the Happy Ever After that I've been waiting for :-)

So that's everything I've been loving this month!

Hope you are all having a great Easter!!

Happy Spring!

My Foundation History

I've just read a great post written by Maeve from Thrift O'Clock !

It's A Make Up History 'Tag' where you just talk about certain products you've tried throughout the years. At the moment though I'm just going to be doing my Foundation history as its really the only part of my makeup history that I can remember what came first! I can't imagine trying to do my lipsticks....it would take  me forever!!

I'm sure we've all been through it, trying out foundation upon foundation trying to find that one that fits us. One that would fit me perfectly is something that would be light in colour and stay that way, wouldn't show my dry patches too much or make them worse and would also have a good medium to full coverage to help cover redness and blemishes.

15 years old -  At this point I wasn't really interested in makeup but I was going to gigs with friends and didn't want to be the odd one out so I asked my mam to take me to Superdrug and buy me some goodies. The foundation I picked up was the Maybeline Dream Matte Mousse.
It was a long time ago so I can't be totally sure on what colour I picked up but I can imagine it being ivory. I remembering it being very cakey on my and drying. Slightly orange toned too. In fact I think I only wore it twice before I gave up on it.

18 Years Old  - I didn't wear any makeup for a long time after that but not long after my eighteenth birthday I started to experiment with makeup and through the internet read lots of great reviews on the Rimmel 16 hour foundation. I bought it in store and although it wasn't a perfect match for me it was usable. That was until it started breaking me out. Not fun!

After having some problems with drugstore foundations I decided to treat myself to something a bit more high end. I went into Debenhams and started chatting to a Clinique MUA. I told her that I was looking for a foundation that helped with redness and she tried the Clinique Even Better foundation in Alabaster on me and I really liked it. It wasn't the exact colour match but with blending worked great. I used that foundation for a long time but was still trying to find a cheaper alternative.

19 Years Old -  Not long later I heard about a very pale foundation on some Youtube videos and decided to give it a try, It was the GOSH Exceptional Wear In Porcelain  Nearly a great match for me. Some days it would look great the overs it would make me look ill it was so pale. So I decided to try the next shade up and that was too dark. I mixed the two and used them until they where empty. I liked that they gave me good coverage and lasted a long time on my skin. What I didn't like is that they did show up my dry spots and make my look "flakey"  at the end of the day - Ewww.

Then in the Summer me and my family went on a holiday to Spain, in the Airport on the way home I was dying to pick up some High End makeup. I had heard so many great things about Estee Lauder Double Wear so that's the counter I went to first. I was approached buy a MUA and we swatched some colours and because I was slightly tanned at the time I choose a darker colour than I usually would, but in the winter I just add a lighter foundation and mix them to get a closer match whilst still keeping that full coverage. I love this foundation and hope to be using it for many years and hopefully be matched with my correct shade one day!

Not long after I decided to keep looking for a drugstore foundation I'd love, I came across the Maybelline Superstay 24 hour foundation. I picked the lightest shade they had and although it was slightly too yellow toned at first it worked fine. Then I noticed that after about 30 minutes on my skin it oxidizes badly. Making my look almost orange in colour! It also clung to my dry patches making them look flaky.

20 Years Old -   After hearing so much abut the famous Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealor I decided to try it out, when I got to the store I saw that they also did a foundation In the range - also called Lasting Perfection - and picked that up too. I got the lightest colour but when I got home it was too dark for me, I mixed it with a lighter foundation and wore it for a few weeks. It's definitely medium to full coverage. I've started to believe it was breaking me out though and have stopped using it. I suggest giving it a go though, If you need a fuller coverage and you can find your colour match. It may not do to you what It did to me.

My latest foundation purchase is one I'm very excited about, It's the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in Light Porcelain. I've only been wearing it a few days so I can't tell you much or if it breaks me out like my other Rimmel foundation but what I can tell you is that It's my perfect colour match, It doesn't cling to any dry patches If i'm using my moisturizer and it covers my redness! I'll be reviewing it fully in a week or two so keep an eye out     :-)

So that's my foundation history/timeline there's no doubt a few I've missed but If I can't remember them they probably were not that interesting!

I loved writing this post and I hope someone gains something from it, whether it's to help buy a foundation or to stay away from one and remember that this is my personal view on these foundation but as we all have different skin types, may not be yours.

What's In My Makeup Bag

Hey Lovely Ladies,

I recently admitted to myself that I needed to start carrying a makeup bag in my handbag.

Last week I was rummaging in my new handbag and there must have been about twenty different lip products scattered around!

So Instead of buying a new one, I remembered one that I was given a few Christmas' ago from my lovely Gran. It was a No7 bag that at the time contained lots of lovely makeup samples.

I absolutely love the bag!

It's a gunmetal sequin bag that slightly changes colour with movement.

It took me ages but I managed to just put in what I really needed for when I go out, whether it's out shopping, to a meal or on a night out!

Lips

MAC Lipstick in Please Me - A gorgeous everyday pink for me, gives a lovely softness to any makeup look.

MAC Lipstick in Impassioned - Gorgeous for those days when I just want a pop of colour.

The Body Shop Strawberry Born Lippy Lip Balm - A great glossy lip balm that smells divine.

No7 Lip Liner in Plum - Love it under Please Me.

Eyes

Maybelline The Colossal Mascara - A great mascara, although I want to try the purple tube next time!

GOSH Velvet Touch Eyeliner in Black - My favourite eyeliner pencil, goes on so smooth and lasts for ages!

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Policy Palette - A great palette with a nice amount of eye shadows so you're not always wearing the same look.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance - Amazing primer, makes any eye shadow go on great and last all day.

ELF Blending Brush and Eye Shadow Brush - Great Brushes for the price.

Face and Cheeks

MUA Blush in Shade 4 - Gorgeous matte shade, looks lovely on the skin and just £1!

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - A great concealer that I've loved for awhile now.

MAC 129SE Brush - I really like this brush as its great for applying face powder and blusher. Which means I can carry around less brushes.

That's what's in my makeup bag!

What's in yours?

REVIEW - GOSH - Long Lasting Eye Liner Pen - Carbon Black

Hullo Beautiful People!

I've had a long love for eyeliner and my go to product is the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Espresso Ink...although I think I'd love any of the colours.

I'd stopped using eye liner pens back last year when I found that I was better at applying gel liners. I recently wanted to try one though as my technique has gotten better ;-)

I remembered that I bought this GOSH Eye Liner Pen earlier in the year on a 3 for 2 offer. At the time I put it right at the back of my box and didn't think of it again until recently.

I actually adore the applicator brush on this product.  It's pointed and quite sturdy. I love that the pointed end gives you the ability to create a fine line, making a cat eye look super easy and flawless

One flaw to this product is that, whilst being very dark going on it does lighten when dry. That means that I like to put an extra layer on which darkens it enough for my liking. For me that isn't a problem as I like to take my time when applying my makeup but it could be a little annoying when your in a rush.

Something you could do to help is to apply a little bit a matte black eyeshadow over it when its wet. Just to give it a bit a depth if you're into a very dark look.

The amazing thing about this product is that it actually does what it sets out to do. It's extremely long wearing.

I find it lasts a good 6 - 7 hours on me. Not as long as Bobbi Brown but definitely better than some of the other drugstore/highstreet brands that I had tried back last year.

It can be a bit hard to remove when just using makeup wipes but It comes of fine with an oil based remover.

This sells for £6.49 in Superdrug stores.

Here's a link and it's actually on a 3 for 2 offer at the moment!

Hope you're all having a good week and that you enjoyed Guy Fawkes Night  :-)

I'm off to watch the new series of American Horror Story !

October Favourite's :-)

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

So October is over now.

Halloween has passed and Guy Fawkes night is quickly approaching!

These are some of the products I've been loving in the last four weeks.

1) GOSH -Long Lasting Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black - I bought this awhile back and completely forgot about it but lately I got re-acquainted to it and its a stunning eyeliner - Review coming soon.

2) ELF - Professional Blending Brush - I've done eye looks by just using this brush alone lately. It's amazing. For the price tag I'm thinking of picking up a few extras!

3) Too Faced - Shadow Insurance Eye Primer - I've heard so much about this eye primer and I've waited a long time to give it a try! I finally have it and I'm happy to say I'm not disappointed :-)

4) Too Faced - Eyeshadow Insurance Policy Palette - A gorgeous palette that I'm so glad I picked up in T K Maxx, they are great quality and my three favourites look stunning together!

5) Nails Inc -  Cheyne Walk Nail Polish - A gorgeous shade that I've been using a lot this Autumn.  Very unusual colour and eye catching - NOTD - Here

6) GOSH - Gold Nail Polish - As horribly boring as the name is this polish is definitely one of the most exciting gold nail polishes I've ever seen. I don't really like gold polish on me as I see it so much on my Mam's nails but this is just hands down STUNNING! I can't stop wearing it, I will have to do a NOTD really soon with this one :-)

7) The Body Shop's - Sweet Lemon Body Butter - This never used to be one of my favourites but I kept it around just because it was one of my first Body Shop purchases. I'm so glad I did, this was my saviour while I was ill. I couldn't stand anything else.

8) Giorgio Armani's - Idole d'Armani EDP - This was a surprise find for me as I had never heard of it before. I really seem to love Armani fragrances though. Armani Code Is one of my all time faves. This is a very fresh but unique scents. Some of the gorgeous notes include - Pear, Honey and Ginger!

Hope you all had a fab October and a safe Halloween!

Recent Haul "Hair and Heels" :-)

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

I haven't made a Haul post in awhile, so I wanted to show you what I've bought or have had given to me over the last few weeks.

Starting off here's something I think I won from the Cosmopolitan Competition that happened about three months ago. When I say I "think" it might be from them, this is because it just came in an envelope with nothing else with it, no small note or letter or even adverts. Nothing!

This isn't the only thing I've won... a few weeks ago I won a Yardley perfume which I use as room spray as it smells a lot like Febreze :-)

I'm not going to complain though! It was a lovely surprise :-)

This is the Mark Hill Bedazzled Anti-humidity Shine Spray.

I've never heard of Mark Hill before so at first I was worried I was going to fall in love with it and then not be able to re-purchase it due to the price but then I looked on the Boots website, its only £5.99 which if I do find that it really works is quite affordable and its a huge bottle.

Next is this Aussie Smooth and Shine Milk that I picked up on the Superdrug Clearance shelf for 99p.

I'm going to try it tonight and I'll be doing a review real soon!

I picked up this GOSH Nail Polish on the clearance shelf, its Lavender Love which I was drooling over a few weeks ago and it was down to just £3, there was a grey colour too but I wasn't fussed on it :-)

I also picked up a Bomb Cosmetics soap that smells like Rhubarb and Custard sweets! Yum!

Now onto the Heels!

I've been obsessing over heels the last few weeks and I've managed to pick up some lovelies from Ebay!

These are some really comfy, yet sexy heels from New Look that I picked up "New" on Ebay.

I gave them a quick wash down even though they were new just in case. I love them, they are so easy to walk in and as I'm trying to get used to walking in heels these are the perfect starter heels!

The little Apple's are so cute! Ekkkk!

My friend Emma and I are obsessed with the shoe brand Poetic Licence, they have some stunning and unusual heels that are perfect for us as they do not always have stiletto height, which means I can walk in some pretty heels without worrying I'm going to break my neck! :-)

I bought these beautiful Apple Pie Mary Jane Pumps from Ebay in a bid for under £10. I know they may not be "real" Poetic Licence shoes but for under £10 I'm not that bothered as they are still gorgeous!

Looking at them I do think they are genuine though :-)

These were the heels my aunt bought my Nan last Christmas but they were too big for her so she's given them to me!

They're not what I would usually pick up but you can't go wrong with just a plain black high heel
 :-)

 So classy!

Okay ... so that's my recent haul!

Do you have a favourite high heel brand??  I would love to know!

July Faves!

Hullo Lovely Ladies!!

It's the first of August today and like always I used a large range of products last month and I've chosen a few of the things that I've repeatedly reached for in my everyday routine.

Cosmetics, Body and Accessories.

  • Strawberry Body Butter  - The Body Shop  - Review
  • Satsuma Shimmer Lip Balm - The Body Shop
  • Cream Puff Lip Cream - Fairy Cake  - Collection 2000
  • GOSH - Eye Trio in Sense (Found in my Superdrug Clearance box for £3, really nice and pigmented)
  • Earring Set - New Look (I've been mixing and matching these, for £2 they were a good find!)

Nails

All Nails Inc Nail Polishes this month, basically because of the TSV set I bought recently :

  • Portobello
  • Porchester Square
  • Pudding Lane  -  NOTD

Fragrance

  • Love Ect...  - EDP - The Body Shop - Review

This is a gorgeous, sweet scent without being immature.

I'm starting to run out of it, so I'm looking out for a good voucher code to re-purchase it with :-)

Tools

I've been using the MAC 266SE eye liner brush a lot this month, I had it in a set last Christmas and I'm really liking it :-) It's tiny which means it would be great to take away in a travel bag!

Books

Books are something I haven't included before on my monthly favourites posts. Even though I read every day! I'm a total romance whore when it comes to books. These two are both re-reads, first up is:

J R Ward's Dark Lover, which is the first in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series.

It's a series I have been following for a long time and wait impatiently for the next novel every year :-)

I'm planning on re-reading the whole series again!

This novel focuses on Wrath, the only pure blood vampire left on the planet and how he grants his friends last wish by bringing his half-breed daughter into the world of the undead....ohh but it's so much more than that!!

J R Ward writes probably the best dialogue I have ever read. It can go from being funny to heart warming then to just down right HOT in seconds. If you like your Paranormal romance novels then this is really worth the read...the whole series is as the books just get better and better...and I promise, there are no sparkly vampire boys in this. Just kick ass, tattoo sporting, hot ones!! :-)

Next is The Bride by Julie Garwood.

The total opposite to the J R Ward novel.

This is a historical romance set in Medieval Scotland, where Laird Alec Kincaid is told by his king to marry an English bride.

Julie Garwood is one of my favourite historical romance authors, when she talks about Scotland its like you're their.
The dialogue between the main characters is done very well and there is some very funny scenes between the sisters.

I always feel great satisfaction when finishing one of her novels because she writes true love so well, it's not sickly sweet and you can't tell what the plot line is from a mile away which is always a good thing :-)

Hope you are all having a great day :-)

REVIEW - GOSH - Velvet Touch Lipstick - Darling

Hullo Ladies!

This is a review of the very popular GOSH lipstick - Darling.

It's a very pale peachy nude.

When I was going through my "Lipstick Obsession Stage" I used to watch a lot of beauty gurus on Youtube talk about their favourite lipstick and this was mentioned in many of them.

It has a very nice matte black packaging.

Its a very pale nude though and I can imagine a lot of people not being able to pull it off. Me included :-)

Though I still like it a lot and that's basically down to the formula, Its so creamy and pigmented. It has amazing moisture for a lipstick and also lasts for some time on my lips.

In this picture I'm actually wearing it quite lightly which is the only way I can wear it, If I put it on any thicker it's like a concealer on me!

If I'm really honest I don't wear this a whole lot, preferring to use MAC Hue as my staple nude.

If I do wear it I apply a pink toned lip gloss over the top to give it a bit more colour :-)

Have you tried GOSH Darling? Love it or Hate it?
