Boxing Day Sales Haul!

 I tell A lie!

I didn't actually buy any of these...on boxing day! As you may have noticed the boxing day sales have started earlier these last few years and have also lasted longer!

So...it was Christmas eve....and we had already visited all the family and given them their presents for the morning after...my dad was in the kitchen cooking our gorgeous tea and me and my mam had settled down to watch the soaps (mainly Eastenders!) all of a sudden I thought to myself. I wonder if any stores are starting their online sales?

It turned out they had!

The Perfume Shop had at least!

I've been wanting this perfume ever since it came out!

It's the type of perfume you either love or hate. I definitely LOVE it!

Original Price - £48.00

Sale Price - £23.99

The 50ml set is out of stock but they still have the 75ml set on sale which is also half price!

So the day after boxing day I managed to finally persuade my brother to drive me to the next town over so I could have a look at some of the local sales that where going on e.g Boot's and Superdrug :-)

First we went to Boot's and I was kind of disappointed  I had looked on the boots website the night before and found lots of great perfume deals but the store's stock was pitiful! So we walked right on over to Superdrug and they had some better deals!

They had the Justin Bieber set on sale, Lacoste Touch Of Pink and some others but one that drew my attention was the Diesel Loverdose.

Not long ago I used to hate this perfume, basically because I was only smelling it on those little paper strips but once I tried it on my skin I loved it!

This 30ml EDP set was down to £19.99

The next thing I bought was actually not on sale but I just had to have it :-)

Mrs Browns Boys Series 2

My brother owns the first series and my mam owns the Live Tour so I decided to pick this up!

It's the funniest series on TV right now and you NEED to watch it!

Even my dad loves it and hes very picky when it comes to comedy :-)

So that's my Sale Haul!

Have you found any good deals recently?

December 2012 Favourites

Hi Ladies!

These are a few of my favourite products from the last month!

I've been trying to be a good girl and start to wear primers under my foundation again so the last few weeks I've been putting on my Laura Geller Spackle Primer. It's a very good primer and I'll be reviewing it soon.
For my eyes I've been using the MUA Undressed Palette which is a lovely palette and I can't wait to do my review on it. In the winter I like to do a strong smokey eye and then just use a nude lipstick, one I've been loving is MAC HUE it a glossy nude/pink colour. On my cheeks I have been using a stronger blush than usual which is my Laura Geller Blush 'N Brighten in Pink Buttercream, then to give my cheeks a nice glow I've been using the Bourjois Eye Shadow Pot in Citron Givre as a cheek highlighterI've also been using a lot of heat on my hair this December so Andrew Barton's The Straight Answer Hot Iron Protection Spray has been a savior. I always find my hands a bit dry in the winter so I've been loving Soap and Glory's Hand Food, it smells gorgeous and really helps to keep the dry skin away. For fragrances I've been wearing Vera Wang's Princess Night and DKNY Be Delicious. For some reason I've been loving the smell of fresh apples this winter!

What have you been loving these last few weeks?

Remington Professional Pearl Curling Wand

I've been wanting a good curling Wand for ages and this seems to be a popular one, It's a very good price too.

I Heart Drugstore Makeup Tag

Hi Ladies!

I found this Tag on the Tanya Burr's Youtube Channel.

1) What is Your Favourite Drugstore Makeup Brand?

I don't think I could name just one but the one brand I'm really obsessed with at the moment is MUA. They recently brought out their own brush range!

2) What are your favourite face, check and lip products?
My Favourite Face product is an eyeshadow that I used as a day highlighter for my cheeks and its the Bourjois eye showdow pot in Beige Rose, give my skin a lovely gentle glow.

For my cheeks I'm loving MUA Blusher in Shade 4, I won this in a giveaway a few months back and I'm so glad I did. It's one of the best blushers I have...and it's only £1!

My favourite lip product from the drugstore is the GOSH Velvet Touch Lipsticks. They go one beautifully and there are some amazing colours!

3) What is your least favourite Drugstore Product?

Rimmel/Maybelline foundations.
I'm so pale and they just make me look orange. Even the lightest shades are way too dark

4) What is the best makeup bargain?

Anything from brands like MUA and ELF. Brands that are inexpensive but don't skimp on quality.

5)What is your favourite underdog product?

Probably the GOSH Exceptional Wear Foundation! It took me so long to find it but It's really the only drugstore foundation range that has shades that don't turn me orange. Sadly though, I never hear any other bloggers talk about it!

6) What is the drugstore product that is really over priced?

I find Revlon make up really expensive. For a drugstore brand that have very high prices even though I don't hear much excited talk about their products!

7) Whats the best drugstore dupe?

I think alot of people will agree that the MUA Undressed palette is the best drugstore dupe out there. It's nearly exactly the same as the Naked Palette from Urban Decay. I really need to post my review on it soon! I'm just waiting for this gloomy Winter lighting to disappear!

8) What drugstore product is not worth the hype?

I really dislike the Maybeline gel eyeliners.  Everyone says that they are a dupe for the Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliners....I really have to disagree!

So there you go another quick tag :-) I tag you all!

I'm loving all the tags that are going around right now!

Hope you have all had a great Monday, Linzi xxx

Baking Again!

Hi Guys!

So I've been baking again and this time I decided to do a chocolate sponge cake.

I'm not a big fan of the traditional Christmas cake so I've decided to do something else this year.

A Chocolate sponge with Raspberry Jam and Cocoa Butter cream filling.

It's quite a messy one and isn't perfect at all but I like to think that gives it edge ;-)

How about you? Do you like the more traditional Christmas cake around this time of year? or would you rather something a bit different?

Christmas Tag

Hi!

I first saw this tag on Bow Tied Beauty and loved it so much I decided to do it myself.

What's Your Favourite Thing About Christmas?

Lot's of things but mostly the traditions. I love the fact that my family have these little things we do every year without fail. I get shockingly upset when something stops us doing them...like a child really!

What's Your Favourite Make Up Look For The Christmas Season?

The glitter! You have to go mad on the glitter eye shadow and nail polish around Christmas....it just has to be done. I'm think of doing a dark smokey eye with some silver glitter running through it. Then a lovely red lipstick and some curls in my hair! I love the fact that you can go that little bit further with your makeup for Christmas without caring that people might think you have over done it.

Real tree or fake tree?

We've never had a real tree in my house, even though they look nice I've heard how much hassle they can be, also you can get some pretty realistic plastic trees out there now!

Giving presents or receiving presents?

For the first few weeks in December its all about the giving but as soon as I've finished my shopping....trying to guess what someone has bought me is my favourite thing to do. It's practically a tradition for me to try and force my brother to tell me!

Do you open your presents Christmas Morning or Evening?

In the morning! Although in my family we always get "Table" presents....which basically means that my dad keeps the best present until after we have eaten and we all have to pretend we didn't know we were getting anything!

Handmade Christmas Cards or Bought?

My Nan makes cards so it's always lovely to get one from her that shes taken time to make!

What's your all time Favourite Christmas movie?

Muppets Christmas Carol. I've loved it since I was a small child. I make sure to watch it every year.

Whats your Favourite Christmas Food?

Seriously???? All of it!
It's the best reason ever to over eat!

I loved doing this  so I tag everyone!

I'd love to read all of your answers!

REVIEW - Aussie - Dual Personality - Smooth and Shine Milk

Hi Ladies.

I'm pretty sure they have changed the packaging of this now, but I picked this up in the Superdrug Clearance for 99p.

This is a great product that boosts the natural shine in your hair.

I run it through my towel dried hair before I blow dry it.

It helps to smooth at my hair which makes it easier to work with. I even find it cuts down my straightening time by half.

On the bottle it says "Our Styling Formula with Australian Jasmine Extract Will Help De-kink Your Hair, Fight Flyaways and Crank Up The Shine."

It definitely gives you some extra shine, If you pump some onto your hand and rub them together, you can clearly see the shimmer that it gives your lovely locks.

If you can find this you should give it a try. Like all the Aussie products I've tried over the years it's very much worth it!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

You don't usually see these popular Marc Jacobs fragrances on such a good offer, only in the post Christmas sales and they are usually all gone within hours. So you may want to take up this offer while you can!

Milan By Next

To me this is a great dupe for DKNY Be Delicious.

It's definitely in the same category.

Next make some amazing perfumes for great prices.

Remington Pearl Hair Straighteners

Something else from Remington that I put on my own Christmas Wish List this year is the Remington Pearl Curling Wand.

At the moment this is 20% and I've heard some great things about it.

Books

Cecelia Ahern Novel One Hundred Names

Cecelia Ahern is the author of many best sellers, she does lovely magical and interesting stories. Great for this time of year.

Something else you could pick up is the Fifty Shades Triliogy. I was obsessed with these books awhile back, just before they hit it big. You may laugh at it but they've sold more than Twilight...that always makes me smile with pleasure for some reason! ;-)

You can get these novels from a few places, e.g Asda, Amazon, WHSmith.

Have a look around for the cheapest price :-)

So I hope these gift ideas help someone out!

I'm super excited for Christmas! Are you?

My Top 5 Christmas Movies

Hi Lovely People!

I'm sitting on the sofa, with a cup of hot chocolate and Elf is on the television!

It's turning out to be a great Sunday afternoon.

I've been thinking about doing this post for a few weeks now so I suppose this is the perfect time!

These are just some of the movies I make sure to watch in the festive season :-)

1) The Muppet Christmas Carol

Image taken from Wikipedia

My Brother and I watch this movie together every year, It's been a favourite since I was a kid.

It's a great version of the classic Christmas Carol.

If you haven't seen it yet then your really missing out!

2) The Grinch

Image taken from Google

Probably my favourite Jim Carrey movie.
He's amazing in it. I'm pretty sure I know most of the words to this movie I've watched it so many time :-)

3) Elf
Image Taken from imdb.com

I went to see this in the cinema when it came out and I'm telling you not a single person in the theatre wasn't smiling when they walked out. It such a funny, festive and unique movie.

4) The Santa Clause

Image taken from Google
Tim Allen was a house hold name when I was younger, I remember watching Home Improvement every night.  I love this Christmas movie, they made a few sequels but to me this was the best :-)

5) The Nightmare Before Christmas

Image taken from Google

I like to watch this at least twice a year, Halloween and Christmas. It's a great movie with lots of wonderful songs to sing along to :-)

There where a few more movies I could include like Home Alone, The Family Stone and White Christmas but then this post could go on forever.

What is your favourite Christmas Movie?

REVIEW - Andrew Barton - The Straight Answer - Hot Iron Protection Spray

Hi Lovely Ladies!

I've been really busy these last few days, my dog's been ill so we've been back and forth the vets and in between that I'm trying to get all the Christmas shopping done, so It's been awhile since I posted on here.

I thought I'd start back with something a little different.

I don't usually talk about hair products but recently I've been more interested in them.

This is one product though that I've been using for years, since my auntie bought me it after she heard that I hadn't been using any heat protection spray when straightening my hair..*gasp*

The first thing I noticed is the gorgeous smell. It's very tropical.

I find that it helps to keep my hair smooth and shiny, whist protecting it.

As I suffer from oily hair I was slightly scared that It was going to make it worse. I haven't noticed that though :-)

I like to spray this into my hair after I've towel dried it and before I blow dry it.

The 250ml bottle lasts me for ages as you don't need a lot of product with each use.

I buy my Andrew Barton Products from Asda and I really love the price for the quality you get.

Have you tried the Andrew Barton Hair Care Range?

What do you think of it?

Christmas Cookies

Hi Lovely Ladies.

Christmas is on its way and it's that time of year that I love to bake.

I picked up the ingredients in the local supermarket.

200g of Plain Flour

150g of  Sugar

 1 Egg

200g Butter

1 tsp of Ground Cinnamon - Optional

Some drops of Almond Essence - Optional

Metallic Cake Decorations - Optional

This recipe makes about 40 cookies depending on how big your cutters are!

I bought my cookie cutters from Amazon -- Here is the link :-)

They were very easy to use.

When I was in college I did a Childcare course and for a while I helped out at a Primary School. Primary Schools must be the best place to be around Christmas time. It was so much fun seeing all those children get excited about the Holidays. This was one of the cooking recipes we used and it's great to use with children!

Also...these cookies last a few days more if sealed in a air tight container ..that's if no one eats them all on the first day ;-)

Just remember to stay safe when cooking and remember that I'm in no way a chef, just a person who likes to bake now and then :-)

Eau My Giddy God - Vera Wang - Princess Night

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

If you read my haul a few weeks back, you would have seen that I recently picked up this Vera Wang perfume from TK Maxx. It was an amazing find. I picked up the 50ml bottle of Vera Wang Princess Night for just £24.99.

I've been meaning to try a Princess perfume for a long time now, as nearly every Perfume Collection I've seen on blogs and Youtube seem to have one included.

This is the newest Princess release.

I remember seeing the advertisement for it earlier in the year and falling in love with the bottle.

This is a grouped as a floral fruity perfume, all though I don't smell a lot of floral notes.

The Official notes to this perfume are ;-

Top - Watermelon, Raspberry and Red Berry

Middle - Jasmine, African Orange Flower and Rose

Base - Woodsy Notes, Musk, Sugar and Vanilla

On me I smell berries, sweet vanilla and woods. Giving this a youthful yet mysterious scent.

For a fruity floral fragrance I find it more interesting than your usual popular teen fragrances, which makes it more wearable for a girl of any age to not feel like they are wearing an immature perfume.

I adore the packaging and it looks stunning on display. I do find some fall out with the glitter but not enough that Im worried about bald patches very soon. There's just one speck of glitter here and there.

The thing that does bug my is the cap/crown. Yes it is gorgeous and the fact that you could also wear it as a ring is very appealing but it's just very fussy and mine always seems to fall off, which makes me fear carrying it around for to long in case I lose them. I would feel better about it if it was magnetic or fitted together more sturdily.

The colour of the glitter looks black in the photo's but when you hold it up to a light you can see that  its just a very dark purple.

All in all though it's a beautiful perfume and I'm so glad I picked it up when I did because only last week I saw it priced at over £40 in Boot's!

Hope you all had a great weekend :-)

Christmas Gift Ideas - For Him -£20 or Under

So Christmas can be a stressful time, that's why I try to do most of my shopping in November so that I can relax and enjoy the amazing month that December can be :-)

I find the males in my family the hardest to buy for so the last few weeks I've been taking my time trying to decide what to get my brother and father.

Here are a few of my ideas!

The Godfather DVD Box Set

Image was taken from Amazon.co.uk
£9 with free P&P
 HERE

I think it must be programmed into men to love The Godfather films. I've never actually watched one...Opps!

An Idiot Abroad By Karl Pilkington

Image taken from Amazon.co.uk
 £5.12 with free P&P
 HERE

The Further Adventures Of An Idiot Abroad By Karl Pilkington

Image taken from Amazon.co.uk
 £8.54 with free P&P
 HERE

I'm a big fan of reading, dyslexia runs in my family and getting my dad and brother to read a novel has been real tough. The last few years my brother has come so far with his reading and I'm extremely proud of him. In all my twenty years though I have never seen my dad read a book but I'm still optimistic and maybe something as crazy funny as the Karl Pilkington books will give him the nudge he needs :-)

Next Cufflinks

 Image taken from Next.co.uk
 £13
 HERE

I find nothing smarter than a man wearing a good shirt and a pair of cufflinks  For the price these are lovely and next have a large range of different cufflinks  Ranging from Looney Toones to Coca Cola Caps. You can also buy a lovely Leather cuff links box to keep them in.

Topman Fragrance Gift Set

Image Taken From Boots.com
£20

I didn't know Boots sold Topman goodies but it was a lovely surprise when I saw this set last week whilst shopping. I think the hat is so cute and I'm really interested on what the fragrance would smell like!

The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air Season One DVD

Image taken from Amazon.co.uk
£5.99 with free P&P
HERE

For as long as I can remember great shows like Red Dwarf, The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air and Blackadder have been a constant presence in my life. I still know all the lyrics to The Fresh Prince but my family have never owned any of the actual DVD's so to be able to have it at hand would be great as I don't see them on repeat that often anymore. Not as much as it used to be anyway.  I know for a fact my brother would love to have this in his DVD collection!

Well I hope this helps someone who's finding it hard to choose a gift!

Hope you have all had a great Saturday :-)
