The When It Rains Beauty Awards 2013 :-)

Hey Guys!

Last year I did a kind of "Best of 2012" post but this year I wanted to jazz it up a little so today I decided to talk about one product from each beauty category that I feel stood out to me this year. So I'm calling it the When It Rains Beauty Awards. WRBA!

I'll be picking out some products that have been talked about frequently on this blog over the last year.

So Here we go!

Starting with...

 Nails!

The Award For "Nail Polish of The Year" must go to the Maybelline Mint For Life nail polish.

Picture Taken From Google

I have my own bottle here but I can't seem to find a picture of it on it's own on my computer.

It's a gorgeous opaque mint nail polish that has been on many bloggers monthly favourites this year. It's looks great on and I re-applied it many times this past Summer.

Body Lotion

The "Body Lotion Of The Year" Award Goes To.....Palmers Cocoa Butter!!!

This is a product that's been around for ages but I first tried it earlier in the year when I sampled it from a magazine and just had to own it for myself. It smells amazing and really does help with dry skin!

Face

The "Face Product Of The Year Award" Goes To Revlon Colorstay!

Revlon Colorstay has been around for a few years now and only this year did I try it out, I fell in instant love. It very workable even for my dry skin and the colour match is great!

Lips

The award for the "Lip Product Of The Year" goes too...

Maybelline Colorsensational Vivid in Neon Red!

The whole Maybelline Vivids line is amazing and I wish we had the whole range here in the UK but my favourite out of what we do have and also my favourite lip product from the whole year is the Neon Red lipstick. It's pigmented, flattering and moisturising. Everything you want really out of a red lipstick. Apparently it's also a dupe for Lady Danger from MAC!

Eye's

The award for "Eye Product Of The Year" goes to..Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze

A savior for days when you want a bit of eyeshadow on but haven't got the time or patience. You just wipe some on with a finger or brush, blend and that's it you're ready to go. I really want to get some more of these and I'm interested in the Bourjois versions too.

Hair

The award for " Hair Product Of The Year" has to go to the Remington Pearl Curling Wand.

I love this curling wand. It's my favourite and I know a lot of other people love the Remington Wands. Over the last year I've enjoyed curling my hair and this Christmas I received a new bigger version of this wand! Can't wait to see if it's as good as this one :-)

Perfume

The Award for "Favourite Perfume Of The Year" Goes To....Just Cavalli By Roberto Cavalli

I seem to be a fan of most Roberto Cavalli Scents but this one really snuck up on me. When I first tried it I wasn't fussed but then I was given it as a gift and after wearing it for a few hours I grew to like it more and more. In fact this year it's become one of my most worn fragrances. It's unique, long lasting and exceptionally beautiful! I took it on holiday with me and it was surprisingly a great scent for both the night and day, it fit well on a beach and in a pub. What more could you need from a perfume?

So there you go, those are my top products of 2013!

What were yours?

Merry Christmas : What I Got For Christmas!

Hullo Ladies!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and are looking forward to the New Year :-)

In this post I'm going to talk about my Christmas Day and what I got for Christmas from friends and family.

Look at my little cutie!

He was so excited to get some new toys that he actually opened his presents on his own this year. After eights years I've never known him to rip wrapping paper to get to a toy but he really wanted to find out what was making that squeaky noise :-)

He loves his little Christmas Pig.

Me and my brother Shaun decided to wake our parents up with moustaches this year. He already had his own so he decided to make a uni-brow instead.

I decided to put mine on rudolph :-) Don't he look cool?

I was given a lot of beauty related gifts this year which I obviously loved!

One of them happened to be the Soap and Glory Yule MOnty Gift Set!!
I was so excited to get this as I adore Soap and Glory and this box contains 9 full size products :-)

From my nan I was given this Ted Baker Set, I've been meaning to try out the Ted Baker line for ages and my nan seemed to have realised!
All products have a marvelous spicy floral scent.

From my brother I was given some more Soap and Glory Products, I was so happy to receive the Eyes Box as It was on my wishlist this year :-) I can't wait to review it!

I finally have some products from LUSH and I'm so happy with them. I tried the Snow Fairy Shower gel last night and it's amazing!

I got some lovely goodies from The Body Shop as well which is always a good thing as it's one of my favourite brands!
I asked for some more of the tea tree line as I'm loving it at the moment and I received the Foam Cleanser, the Toner and the Scrub :-)

I also received the Japanese Cherry Blossom Perfume set that includes the 50ml EDT and the 250 body lotion.

I also got one of my favourite scented line from The Body Shop!
The Strawberry set that includes four full sized products and a bath lilly :-)

My hair has grown longer this year again so I asked for a new hair wand with a thicker barrel and my parents got me the Remington Sapphire Pro Curl.

Also from my parents I received a bottle of DIOR J'Adore.

It's a gorgeous grown up scent that I'm super excited to wear!

Another amazing beauty pick from my parents was the Urban Decay Smoked palette.

The colours are so unbelievably beautiful and I can't wait to have some fun trying them all out!

The palette comes with a great how to booklet, a 24/7 eyeliner and a sample of the Primer Potion.

Another set I was given was this French Connection Set that cam with a body wash, body lotion and body spray. It all came in a lovely cream wash bag too :-)

My brother also gave me the No 7 Manicure Set which I can't wait to use although I do find all those pieces kind of scary. They look like torture devices to me...anyone else feel the same way?

I also got a new bag and a new pair of Boot's from New Look!

Nice to have a change, I never really think to buy myself new boot's or bags!

A River Island purse which I asked for because both my purses broke in the beginning of December, so this was a must really :-) I just love how pretty it is!!

SOCKS!
Can't go wrong with socks for Christmas, thank you nan!

A cute hat from Matalan from my mam and dad :-)
I wore this shopping yesterday and all the kids in their prams were pointing at it lol

I also got a lovely new dress to wear out!

It's a gorgeous velvet skater dress from New Look and I love it!

My friend happened to give me this gorgeous necklace that I think goes with it perfectly :-)

In my family, we've always had our biggest presents given to us by the dinner table after the Desserts.

I don't know why or when It started but we've been doing it since before I can remember and this year I was given a Wireless Speaker System. I love it!

So that's everything I had for Christmas and I feel so blessed, I spent the whole day with family and we giggled, ate turkey and got drunk and that's really all you want out of the Holiday right?

I really hope you all have an amazing New Years!

REVIEW - Remington Pearl Wand

Hullo Ladies!

I received this Remington Curling Wand for Christmas. It's the first curling tool I've ever owned and up to recently I had only ever had my hair curled when I was my cousins bridesmaid and at the time I hated how it looked.

I think that was probably because my hair was quite short at the time.

Now my hair is longer I've been wanting to do more with it so a curling tool was a lovely surprise!

This wand has a pearl ceramic coating with real pearl shimmer for a smoother finish.

Included with this curling wand you recieve a heat protecting glove and a heat proof pouch.

It has a digital display and you can choose a heat setting from 130 - 210  degrees celsius.

It heats up surprisingly quickly, at the price I expected to be waiting about five minutes at least but it was hot in one minute. It also has a cool tip at the end so you can hold onto something while your waiting for the curl.

On the box it says that it has a automatic safety shut off which I great but I've never had to use it as I always make sure I turn the wand off and pop it into the included pouch.

I've heard that a lot of people find it daunting using a curling tool that doesn't have a clamp but I find this to be very easy to use even for me. I'm glad I started out with a wand as I've heard the clamp on some curling irons can make impressions into the hair that don't look as natural as it would with a wand.

I adore this product and I'm even looking into buying more from the Remington Pearl range.

In the above picture I show how it looks with just a few curls in my hair as I don't like to completely curl my hair as it's so thick that I feel like it looks way too big if I curl every part.

You can create tight curls or loose curls all according to how hot you have the setting or if you let the curls drop by not applying hairspray soon after. At the moment I'm preferring the more loose curls.

I was very surprised at how long these curls can last. I've curled my hair for a night out and still have lovely waves the next morning for a more vintage look!

You can buy it HERE for  £19.89 but it's also on sale in Argos at the moment!

Have you tried this curling wand?

Weekly Want's :-)

Hullo Ladies!

Here are some products that I've been obsessing over this week :-)

D&G The One EDP Gift Set  - £38.66 on sale
I've been wanting this perfume for a long time now and I constantly drool over it when I spot it on the Debenhams website. I have so many perfumes that I want to get through first though, maybe I'll put it on my birthday wishlist later in the year!

I feel like I've been seeing this everywhere since it came out! I'm loving matte shades at the moment so I'm itching for this gorgeous palette!

MAC Blacktrack Fluidline      -  £14

My Bobbi Brown eyeliners are starting to dry out :-( *they've lasted me 18 months though!* so I'm in need of a good black gel liner and I've heard great things about this one!

Remington Hair Dryer    -£19.99 on offer

My old hair dryer broke back last year and since then I've just been using my travel one but my hair is so thick and long now that's it's taking me ages to dry my hair with the thing!  Looking at the reviews on the Argos website this looks like a great hair dryer for the price. I'm loving Remington hair tools right now!

Remington Curling Wand  -   £22.99 on offer

I recieved the thinner version of this curling wand for Christmas and I love it, I really want to try a thicker barrel though so hopefully soon I'll be picking this one up!

So that's everything I've had my eye on this week :-)

What have you been wanting??
