July Favourites 2013

Hi Again :-)

It's August soon..that's just way too scary.

Here are some of the products I've been loving this month and why.

Burts Bees Lip Balm

I've said it plenty of times on this blog. The Burts Bees lip balms are my favourite out there. I've been using the mango one frequently this month. I haven't been that interested in applying a lot of makeup so most days its just this. It's an amazing hydrating lip balm that smells lush!

Michael Kors Very Hollywood EDP

I've been loving this perfume this month, it's floral, fresh and girly. I'm not usually a fan of floral perfumes but this has some fruity notes that keep it from being head ache inducing for me. I was given this last year for my birthday and I was so happy as I wouldn't have thought to try it otherwise!

Leighton Denny Indulgence Nail Polish

I'm a big fan of red nail polish, especially in the summer and this Leighton Denny polish is my favourite at the moment. It's very opaque and looks great after just two coats. I have it on my fingers and toes as it looks amazing on both.

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution

I just reviewed this product here, so I'm not going to say much about it now. It is a great product though and I'd definitely recommend it.

Laura Geller Blush & Brighten in Pink Buttercream

I have a few Laura Geller blushes and I love them all but I haven't used them recently because I've been obsessed with drugstore blushes. It's always nice to go back to an old favourite though and this Pink Buttercream is stunning for the cheeks this time of year.

Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

Like I said, I haven't been wearing much makeup recently but when I do I've been picking up this Revlon lip butter in Sweet Tart, It's a gorgeous, easy to wear, raspberry pink that's very pigmented and glossy.

So those are my favouties of this month.

Hope you all have a great August!

REVIEW - L'Oreal - Skin Perfection - Purifying Micellar Solution

Hullo ladies!

I'm reviewing a L'Oreal product today which I've been really excited about writing.

A lot of us have heard about the famous cleanser from Bioderma but for most of us its not the easiest product to get a hold of. Luckily L'Oreal have created something that's been said to be a dupe!

As I've never tried Bioderma before I couldn't tell you if it is or not but I will be telling you if I think this L'Oreal product is any good :-)

This product claims to dissolve makeup, unclog pores,  remove impurities, tone and soothe the skin.

I've been using this product for over a month now and have to say I'm very pleased with it and will be re-purchasing after I run out.

One of the features that makes this different from normal cleansers in that there is no need to rub your face to clean it. You just wet the cotton pad with the micellar solution and hold it over those stubborn makeup areas like your lips and eyes for a few seconds and then wipe away. It's used for all over the face too though and I find it great for taking off makeup in those forgetful places like neck, ears and hairline.

So after swatching a few products onto my hand at Superdrug this afternoon I took some photos on how great this cleanser works.

Clean as a whistle!

Pros:

  • You only need a little amount of product to clean your whole face
  • It's inexpensive
  • Leaves no residue on the skin
  • Suitable for sensitive skin and is Hypo-allergenic

Cons:

  • Easy to spill product due to packaging

That's really the only con for me with this product. You can waste a lot of product because of how easily and quickly the water runs out of the bottle.

I'd still definitely recommend this product to you all as It's such as easy step to incorporate into your routine and saves you some time :-)

Originally it's £4.99 for 200ml but you can get it for 1/3 off at Superdrug right now.

Have you tried this product? I'd love to know what you think!

First ever ASOS order! Feat Primark and New Look :-)

Hullo Ladies!

So I've been a naughty girl this last week but I guess I'm just not made to write blog post in a heat wave....My body and mind just aren't up to it.

Surprisingly though, something I am able to do in this heat is online shopping.....Ummm....I have no excuses :-(

So after stalking the website for more than a year, I decided to try out asos. Mainly because of the gorgeous dress below thats actually from Primark and at £10, I just couldn't say no.

Sadly it wasn't to be and I ended up sending it back due to the fact that it felt two sizes smaller than it stated.

I think I started to cry when I gave it to the post office woman.

I've had no problem with refunding though which is always a good thing. Can't beat free postage and returns.

Here are the things that did fit!

Originally £14.99
Sale Price £9.50

I haven't worn a skirt this colourful since I was about nine but lately I've been loving the look of them and really want a few more.

This fits beautifully and is true to size.

All I need now is a new white t -shirt to wear with it :-)

Originally £28
Sale Price £16.50

This is the dress I picked after returning the Primark Red Dress.

I could probably go a size down but I think it works fine, its a swing dress so it's supposed to be big right?

I'm so glad I did, It's gorgeous. I'm hopefully going to wear it to my town's festival this Saturday and I'm pairing it with my waist belt that came with a dress that my mam bought me from Debenhams years ago.  I need to get some more belts, they're my favourite things to pair with a dress.

I love how you only have to belt this dress for it to show off your beautiful curves without being super tight and showing those horrible bumps.

£10.00

A stunning maxi dress that is going out of stock fast by the looks of it.

I could have gone down a size but It still fits okay. It comes with a belt that's a great size. I was worried it was going to be too small but it's a good length ;-) Hehehe.

I love the print so much.

The most surprising thing of all is....it has POCKETS!

I love the idea of having pockets on dresses, I've found a few of them lately but this is the first Maxi dress I've seen with them. That will come in handy on holiday :-)

So that's everything I've ordered from the ASOS website :-)

I'm really happy with my order and I've had no problems.

I choose the free delivery option and it came in just 3 days.

Have you bought anything from ASOS lately?

REVIEW - Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer - NOVA

Hullo Ladies!

I been bust the last few days and I've just not had any inspiration for posts.

Hopefully that will change soon.

I just want to do a quick review on a products I'm really liking lately and it's one of the famous Rimmel Apocalips

The only one I currently own at the moment is NOVA,  a gorgeous muted raspberry colour.

I love paring it with a smokey eye because it's not too vibrant and in your face. Just a nice pop of colour to the lips.

The formulation is creamy and moisturising with amazing pigmentation.

The glossiness doesn't stick around for too long but the colour stays surprisingly well.

The applicator is great and contains just enough products for one coat on your lips, it's great to layer to get a more vibrant colour but watch out as this likes to travel to the corners of your mouth if you have too much product on your lips!

I'm really enjoying this products and I'd definitely pick up more at some point.

I love the look of Big Bang!

Have you tried any of the Rimmel Apocalips?

Summer Makeup Wishlist

Hi Ladies!

So we're having a really sunny week here in South Wales, In fact my whole family had a water fight in our garden this afternoon because it was so hot!

I've been thinking a lot about what products I'd love to have this Summer and this is what I've come up with!

£19.50

Wether it's because it's a hot day and you just need that extra something to keep your make up from sliding off your face or you know you're having an epic night out and want your makeup looking great for the whole time, this product sounds like a holy grail essential! I've heard some amazing things and I really want to test it out!

£6.99

I'm super pale and for along time I've always stayed away from bronzing products but after watching a lot of bronzing tutorials on youtube, I have some hope that I can somehow make this work for my extremly white skin without going overboard! No ones likes that look!

£7.99

I love the look of these Lip Crayons that Bourjois have brought out, I'm very excited about them and I've heard that Peach On The Beach is actually a great dupe for MAC's Cut The Caper!

£20

I need it in my life. Like. Right Now.

£8

I feel like every Beauty Guru on Youtube has been talking about this product, It's sounds amazing just because of the scent....but it's apparently a really beautiful nude!

£28

This is my favourite foundation ever and I know some people may be thinking that it would be too heavy for summer but I really don't feel that way. It's beautiful for all seasons and it's the longest lasting foundation I've ever tried! It's a Holy Grail Product for me :-)

So those are the product I'm wanting for this Summer!

What's on your Summer Makeup Wishlist?

Free Eyeko Liquid Liner in this Month's Marie Claire Magazine!

Hullo Ladies!

I'n the UK this month Marie Claire comes with a free black Eyeko Liquid Liner, I've been wanting to try Eyeko for the longest time after seeing them on QVC.

Another great thing is that the magazine is also on offer, instead of paying the usual £3.80 its only £2.50!
I haven't been this excited about a magazine freebie in a long time, usually because it's always the same brands but this is the first time I've seen Eyeko.

The product is called the Skinny Mini Liquid Liner, which means that it's a sample size but don't be put off.

The Eyeko Liner contains 1.2 g of products and my NYC liner is 1.6 g.

So It's a great sample size that you should get a lot of use out of :-)

I suggest having a look out for this freebie!

Have you tried any of the Eyeko products? I really want to try their mascara.

Big Summer Haul! - New Look, Dorothy Perkins, George + Barry M

Hullo Ladies!

So heres a collective haul and some things I've bought this Summer.

New Look and Outfit

While in New Look I noticed a few nice accessories in the Sale and I picked up the Turquoise Cross and Cuff Earring set and the Black bead Bracelet.  Both were on sale for a £1.

I'm loving the turquoise jewellery at the moment and I found a matching ring to go with my earring in Outfit. A set of 4 on sale for £3.50

Barry M

I wanted to try more of the Barry M Gelly Nail Paints so I picked up Papaya and Greenberry.

Floral Skater Dress

I've been buying a lot of things for a holiday that I saving up for in October and I seem to be obsessed with dresses, I picked up this Skater dress in New Look for £14.99.

I'm in love with the print.
It's a gorgeous dress and I don't mind paying that price!

Blue Butterfly Skater Dress

This is another skater dress I bought from New Look for £14.99. It's taken me awhile to appreciate all the fabulous prints that have been around in the last year but I'm loving them this summer.

The dresses looks beautiful on and both of them are going to look great for the daytime with a gorgeous denim jacket and cute sandals.

Dorothy Perkins
 Black and White Striped Dress

I found this gorgeous dress in the Dorothy Perkins sale at Outfit. It looks amazing on, I fell in love with it as soon as it was on me in the changing rooms. It's incredibly flattering.

Was originally £35 but was down to just £20 in the sale.

Black Peplum Skirt

Also in the Dorothy Perkins sale I found this amazing peplum skirt that looks great on.

It was a bargain at just £7

New Look Inspire Aztec Vest with Zip Detail

I went back to New Look to look for something to go with the skirt and I chose this stunning top. It looks great tucked into the skirt. I picked this up for £9.99

George (ASDA)

Tights and Bikini!

I needed some new tights and I decided to try the George brand.

I never really think to buy a bikini before I go on holiday but last time I was abroad I really wanted one. So I decided to just pick up this inexpensive one from George so I don't feel to bad if I never end up wearing them.
Top and Bottoms where £2.50 each.

I think I'm going to buy a sheer, long white t shirt or tunic to wear over it :-)

So that's everything I've bought this Summer so far :-)

No doubt I'll have another one up soon!

Have you found any bargains in the Summer Sales yet?

My Summer Top 5 Series - Perfumes!

Hullo Ladies!

This is a post about my favourite summer scents!

For Summer days and Summer nights :-)

Just Cavalli by Roberto Cavalli - I gorgeous white floral with notes of  Tiare Flower, Neroli and Rosewood. It's gorgeous for a night out. Sexy, grown up and unique!

Mango EDT by The Body Shop - I stunning burst of mango sweetness, great and refreshing for those hot days in the sun. I've nearly finished my new bottle I love it that much, if only they made a larger size!

Soap and Glory Girligo Moisturizing Body Spray - Technically not a perfume but it's such a gorgeous scent with great staying power that I wear it by itself like a perfume. It's the typical Soap and Glory scent so if you love the smell of The Righteous Butter  then you'll love this!

Armani Code Femme by Giorgio Armani - One of my signature perfumes, I've been in love with it for years. It's sexy and mysterious. Great for wearing all year round but I love it on a summer night out. Has notes of Italian Orange, Honey, Orange Blossom, Jasmine and Sandalwood.

Miami Glow by Jennifer Lopez - This has been a favourite holiday scent for me for years. It's just an amazing tropical fragrance. Has notes of Coconut Milk, Passion Fruit, Pink Grapefruit, Vanilla, Orange Blossom and Musk.

So those are my favourite Summer fragrances!

What are yours?

REVIEW - Max Factor - CC Cream

Hullo Ladies!

First Review of July :-)

This post is about the Max Factor CC Cream that was in my June Favourites.

I don't have much information on CC creams but I know that cc stands for colour correcting.

I picked this up a few months ago when it was on an introductory offer in Superdrug.

Around the time L'oreal where advertising their new CC creams in magazines and I tested one out on my hand and was super disappointed that they were orange! Literally...Oompa Loompa orange! Me and my mam had a little giggle about it.

So when testing it out I wasn't expecting much, I was delightfully surprised at how great it looked. The colour match was great and the texture was quite thick and mousse like, which made me think that it would give slightly more coverage than other cc creams.

When I brought it home I tried it on and at first was slightly disappointed with the coverage but then I put on a second layer and I loved how it looked. Testing the product out fully I decided to put on a third layer to see if it caked and was happy to see it kept it's natural look and just gained more and more coverage the more I worked it.

It has a matte finish but doesn't stick to my dry patches!

Not long after I bought it I read in a magazine that it was one of their favourite drugstore CC creams due to the great coverage :-)

Colour Correcting - It evens out my redness but doesn't cover up spots or dark under eyes. It gives you a light to medium coverage depending on how many layers you apply.

It has a nice fresh smell and doesn't break out my sensitive skin.

I love this product and would definitely repurchase it.

The packaging is sleek and impressive and if you're a pale skinned gal who has trouble finding a great colour match then I suggest trying out the shade 40 fair which is what I use :-)

Here's the link!

Have you tried a CC cream?
