The Perfume Tag :-)

Hullo Ladies!

So if you've been reading my blog these last few weeks you may have noticed that I'm perfume mad lately.

Looking on Youtube I noticed that earlier in the year this perfume tag was going around and I was so gutted I missed it so I thought....why not do it anyway??

I'm always behind on the trend...why must this be any different?

So lets start with the questions :-)

1) What is your favourite Winter scent?

Armani Code, although I wear it all year round it's something I find myself being drawn to in the winter as it's a comfortable yet sexy scent. It's gorgeous and If you've never tried it I highly suggest you test it next time you're in a store!

2) On a lazy day you reach for....?

The Body Shop's Love ECT..  I just keep it in my handbag for those days when I don't know what else to put on as it's so wearable. It's not too sweet, floral or fresh. Just a balanced mix of them all.

3) What would you use when you are going on a date?

Lancome's Tresor Midnight Rose.

It's an extremely sexy scent to me. It's a classic with a modern twist. It's very romantic and addictive.

4) What was your high school signature scent?

When I was in comprehensive school nearly every girl in my class was wearing Britney's Fantasy and as much as I love that scent I wanted something different so my Mam took me to Superdrug and tested a load a perfumes with me untill we found the perfect one. I chose Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden. To me its very fresh and floral. Grown up yet not too old fashioned.

5) What is your current love?

My current favourite is one of my most recent buys, it's Idole d'Armani by Giorgio Armani.

It was a real surprise to me as I'd never heard of t before. I tested it out one day a few weeks ago and fell instantly in love with it. It's perfect for me. Fresh and sweet with some spicy notes mixed in. I also picked it up on sale which is even better! I've used it nearly everyday since I bought it.

6) What is your  favourite Summer scent?

My favorite Summer scent is Be Deliscious by DKNY.
I get so many comments when I wear it. I love it! So juicy and fresh.

7) Name a perfume you regret buying.

Siren By Paris Hilton.

There was three reasons I bought this on a blind buy from Amazon. 1) Everyone kept telling me how good her perfumes are. 2) It was apparently a dupe for the very famous Viva La Juicy from Juicy Couture. 3) it was extremely cheap online.

So I thought to myself...why not? I was real excited about it and then when I sprayed it on my wrist I had to run to the bathroom and wash it off again. I hated it! The most embarrassing part is...it's not even a bad dupe. It smells very similar to Viva La Juicy....but me being the idiot I was didn't think of smelling that perfume either. A few months later I did and hated that too. *shakes head in disgust*

So if you're a fan of Viva La Juicy but hate the price tag I would definitely suggest picking this up. Sadly I now have a 100ml bottle going to waste.

8) What perfume is on your wish list?

Roberto Cavalli. I have to smell it every time I go into a Boot's/Superdrug shop. It's stunning. Strong, spicy, a hint of sweetness and instantly recognisable. I'm hoping to get it for Christmas :-)

I loved doing this tag! I tag anyone who wants to do it :-)

Hope you all had a nice day!

REVIEW - MAC Lipstick - Hug Me

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

Some time ago now when I had just started getting into makeup, I was obsessed with neutral lipsticks... "Your Lips But Better" shades.

I had already gone through two tubes of the gorgeous 17's Beehive but wanted something that lasted a bit longer on my lips.

Hug Me was the perfect solution.

I bought it online without seeing it in person and when I first looked at it I thought it may have been too brown toned for me but when swatched on the lips it really is "neutral" and I believe it would look good on all skintones.

I usually apply it whenever I don't know what else to use. It can look good with most looks but I love it for when I want my makeup to look "fresh/barely there".

It's a lustre so it goes on glossy but is also surprisingly opaque.

As you can see, i've used it a lot.

It lasts a good time on your lips, even when the glossy look fades the colour is still left behind.

I think it's great to add to your collection if you are a fan of nude lipsticks or just want something natural looking :-)

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I'm off to watch the new season of Misfits before I have time to think about how tomorrow is a Monday :-P

NOTD - Nails Inc - Cheyne Walk

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

I haven't done a NOTD post for some time so I thought I'd show you a polish that has been a favourite of mine these last few weeks.

It's Nails Inc's Mirror Metallic polish in Cheyne Walk

This came with my last TSV from QVC.

It wasn't one I was that excited about even though I knew at the time that it was one of their newer special effects. Then one night a few weeks back I tried it on my toes....Oh my. It was just so pretty!

It gave the illusion of covering all my imperfections and looked stunning on the nail.

I'm not gonna lie and tell you that I know a lot about what the actual finish is so I'll let the Nails Inc Website explain.

"Mirror Metallic polishes have a a highly reflective finish.  Created with new mica pearls that give depth of colour; mirror shine and a two tone effect, Mirror Metallic polishes are ideal for a show stopping finish." - Taken from the Nails Inc Website

I definitely agree with the "show topping" bit. It allows your nails to catch the light beautifully and the colour is just gorgeous. Going from an amazing purple to a lovely moss green.

Sadly I just couldn't catch that exceptional green colour on camera :-(

With just one coat its very sheer but the second really pulls it together, giving great coverage.

I only used two coats for the pictures, with no top coat.

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'm hoping to do some more shopping now that I'm feelin better :-)

Having The Flu = Late Night Perfume Shopping :-)

Hullo lovely Ladies!

This last week I've been suffering with a bad case of flu, i've basically just spent it in bed, eating soup, watching movies and shopping online.

I've re-watched every Tim Burton and Mel Brooks Movie that I own.

My Favourite movie from all of them is Young Frankenstein which I make sure to watch every halloween. It's such a funny movie. With so many amusing and memorable quotes.

Igor: Dr. Frankenstein...
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: "Fronkensteen."
Igor: You're putting me on.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No, it's pronounced "Fronkensteen."
Igor: Do you also say "Froaderick"?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No... "Frederick."
Igor: Well, why isn't it "Froaderick Fronkensteen"?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: It isn't; it's "Frederick Fronkensteen."
Igor: I see.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: You must be Igor.
[He pronounces it ee-gor
Igor: No, it's pronounced "eye-gor."
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: But they told me it was "ee-gor."
Igor: Well, they were wrong then, weren't they?

Qoute taken from imdb.com

So like many women out there...I also seem to be spending most of my time when I'm sick, online shopping.

I've been wanting to pick up a Lolita Lempicka perfume for a long time now.

The bottles look amazing and the fragrance notes sound just right for me.

The perfume I picked was L de Lolita Lempicka.

As a blind buy I was worried that I was going to hate it but after spending a week reading reviews and analyzing the notes I decided that it definitely sounded like a fragrance for me and took the chance.

The box it came in is fabulous!

The packaging is stunning and I love the fact it has a " L" charm as it just makes it seem more personal for me!!

The scent isn't what you may expect though....I'll make sure to do a special review soon to tell you all about it!

So there you go!

Hope you're all having a good week...I'm off to drown myself in cough medicine!

Eau My Giddy God - Britney Spears - Fantasy

Hullo Ladies!

This was one of the first perfumes I had ever been given. I remember it was coming home from Florida and my mam and dad bought it for me in duty free. I'm pretty sure that at the time it was relatively new. It wasn't long though and it seemed like everyone was wearing it.

This isn't the bottle they bought me....I had to repurchase it. I loved it that much.

I bought this big bottle in my second year of college... about three years ago.

I remember one of my tutors threatening to send me and a couple other girls home because we were wearing this perfume. Not because she was allergic or anything. Just the fact she didn't like it. If thats not power going to someones head then I don't know what it.

Obviously I did the opposite and wore it on a daily basis ;-) I know that may sound mean but if she had said it was because she was sensitive to scents like that then I wouldn't have worn it...but she was very horrible about it so It just made me angry :-P

Anyway...rant over and on to the actual perfume!

The notes in this fragrance are :

Top  - Litchi, quince and kiwi

Middle - Cupcake, orchid, jasmine and white chocolate

Base - Woodsy Notes, Musy and Orris Root

The notes that stand out to me are White Chocolate and Cupcake...thats all I smell to be honest...which is enough :-)

I don't wear this much anymore...not because I think its too immature but because I have other perfumes I like more. I usually wear it on those days when I'm feeling down or just lazy. It's a nice fragrance to cuddle up to on the sofa watching a movie with the family kind of thing.

Scents are great for triggering memories and to me personally this smells like going back to school after christmas and noticing that every girl in that classroom must have had a britney perfume for a present!

It's a very noticeable scent because it's so popular but I wouldn't say it was too overpowering if used correctly. You don't want to be dousing yourself in it. It has great lasting power and silage ..which means that people really notice that you smell good :-)

I really want to try her other "Fantasy" perfumes at some point...they all sound lush!

I tried Curious once but hated it.... smelt awful on me!

Have you tried this perfume?? Do you have fragrances that bring back funny memories??

My First Too Faced Purchase AKA - Why I love T K Maxx!

Hullo Lovely Ladies!
So back earlier in the year, whilst late night shopping I noticed that Debenhams where selling this Too Faced Set  at £12.99 in the sale which I thought was an amazing price but decided to wait till the next day before purchasing it.

Sadly when I checked again the next day, it had gone!

I was gutted and tried to search it out elsewhere online for around the same price but found nothing. I really wasn't willing to pay full price for it when I had seen it on sale.

Then yesterday me and my brother went shopping to pick up some pet food, I managed to persuade him to go into T K Maxx with me as I had read in a few blog posts that some beauty bloggers have been finding some amazing bargains in there lately, including OPI and Urban Decay!

At first I started looking at the fragrances as it's one of my newest obsessions...but couldn't find anything I really fancied. My brother did though! He picked up one of the Ed Hardy for Men fragrances...I must same it smells amazing.....Anyway, I started having a look around and came across the Too Faced Set I had been craving! I was so excited, I snapped it up straight away before anyone else could pick it up and literally ran to the counter......Heres why!

Yep.....you're seeing that right!

£7.99 for a full sized Too Faced eye shadow palette and one full sized Shadow Insurance Eye Primer.....I thought I might have been dreaming!

So there you go....another great find in TK Maxx!

If you have one buy you I strongly suggest you go check it out :-)

Have a great weekend.

REVIEW - The Body Shop - Candied Ginger Body Butter

Hullo Lovely Ladies

So we all know I have a love for The Body Shop's Candied Ginger Body scrub so after raving about it for months last year I decided to buy some of the other products in the range once they were on sale again.

I managed to pick up the body butter and hand cream this past summer and now its getting colder I've decided to start reviewing them!

The texture of this butter is thick and creamy and sinks into the skin very quickly just like most if not all Body Shop body butters :-)

I have to say that scent wise I was slightly disappointed. I was expecting this to be like the body scrub, spicy yet sweet. To me this is more of a fresh, sharp ginger scent instead of the promised "candied" ginger scent.

It's still a nice ginger scent and can be worn all year round without feeling weird or out of place.

It's not an overpowering fragrance and doesn't last too long. About thirty minutes on the skin.

I remember watching a review on youtube of this product back last year and the reviewer was commenting on how a friend told her it smelt like Vicks and I can kind of understand that comment, it certainly has the balmy "good for you" undertone to it. Which sometimes I actually like :-P

This is definitely a hydrating body butter and does dry skin wonders! Leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth without being greasy at all.

It contains Ginger Root Extract and is Paraben Free :-)

If you're looking to add to you body butter collection and you like that fresh ginger bite then this is a good moisturiser to pick up. Would I repurchase? No. Just because I have so many others that I prefer. I think it's a good deal though as it's often on sale.

Right now you can get it and the rest of the Candied Ginger Range from The Body Shop's clearance for a great price!

Have you tried this body butter? Love it or Hate it??

Hair & Perfume Haul (Andrew Barton & Demeter)

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

So earlier this week I went food shopping in Asda and noticed that Andrew Barton Hair Care was on sale, everything in the range was £3 each.

I've loved Andrew Barton's "The Straight Answer Hot Iron Protection Spray" for awhile now, my aunty first introduced me to it and I fell in love with how it smelt. It's a very tropical, pina colada scent :-)

So I picked up another bottle whilst it was on sale!

I also needed a new Shampoo and Conditioner as I've run out of my Herbal Essence.

I was immediately attracted to the colour of the bottle and that it was for coloured hair.

I've been colouring my hair since I was about 13 years old and I really notice how long the colour lasts if you use hair products that are aimed for dyed hair!

I also picked up this "Frizz Tamer Magical Leave In Conditioner"

I've always wanted to try a leave in conditioner but because of my oily hair I was slightly frightened to pay a high price for one that I was going to through out after my first use. As this was quite inexpensive I thought I would give it a chance. I also love how attractive and professional the packaging is :-)

I used them all last night and I'm going to be reviewing soon!

Also a perfume came in the post this week, it was the second Demeter fragrance I had ordered from Ebay. In my last haul I told you how disappointed I was in the first one I bought which was called "Sex On The Beach" but I actually really like this scent!

This is part of their Jelly Belly range, I absolutely love Jelly Belly sweets so I was really excited to try this "Wild Blackberry Peach Cobbler" cologne spray. I'm so glad I bought this one!

So thats my small haul!

Have you tried the Andrew Barton Hair Products??

Eau My Giddy God - Michael Kors - Very Hollywood EDP

Looking back on my "Perfume Loving" history, Michael Kors Very Hollywood should be a scent that I pretty much hate but for some reason I find myself falling deeper and deeper in love with it.

Floral Perfumes have never really been my thing. I'm more of a "Sweet N Spicy" kind of girl.

I picked this up on my birthday after I received a Boots voucher from a friend  It was already half price so I picked it up.

The Notes to this perfume are :

Top - Mandarin Orange, Bergamot and Raspberry
Middle - Orris Root, Gardenia, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine
Base - Amber, Oakmoss and Vetiver

When first applied I really notice the white floral notes; Jasmine and Gardenia as well as the freshness from the Mandarin Orange.

I think it's the freshness from the fruit and white flowers that allow me to love this perfume. The name fits it well as It's a very glamorous scent.

It's one I think would be great for special occasions like weddings and parties.

The lasting power of this perfume is a good three hours on my skin but a lot more when sprayed on clothing.

In fact what I love to do is spray it on the scatter cushions on my bed and my curtains because it makes my room smell gorgeous for days!

Packaging wise I think it's stunning, it looks very expensive and chic. Giving an antique vibe. The actual fragrance is a pink colour which just makes it even more pretty.

I love the way the glass is cut and how stamp-like the lid is.

The only thing I will warn you about if you're thinking of buying it without trying first, don't be fooled by the fruity top notes. This is very much a Floral perfume.

I can't find it on the Boot's website at the moment but I would go check in your local store to see if they still have it.

The Perfume Shop have the 30ml on offer at the moment for £16.99 - Here

You can also find it on Amazon and Ebay :-)

Have you tried Very Hollywood? Love it or hate it?

Recent Haul (10/10/12) Boots, New Look & Magazine Freebies

Hullo Lovely Ladies!!

So this is my most recent haul post.

Today  I went shopping with the family to pick up some things...It wasn't long before we all realised we were searching for the same thing....perfume! We ended up spending most of the day in Boots. Which I have no problem with as its a favourite hobby of mine to try to test every fragrance in the store :-)

They have some amazing perfume offers on at the moment so I suggest you go take a look here if you're on the lookout for a new one :-)

I picked up this Giorgio Armani perfume called Idole d'Armani

It's a gorgeous scent. It was also half price!

I bought the 50ml EDP for £29

My Mam and Nan both picked up Anais Anais which was also on offer :-)

We stopped in New Look which I have to say is one of my favourite clothing stores. I'm always buying something from there.

Sadly they didn't have a lot of sale products left in the store but me and my mam noticed they had a good deal on socks. As it's getting colder now, socks are a must for me.

You get to pick 3 pairs you like for just £4.

I also did some Ebay shopping last weekend and one of the product came in the post this morning.

I've been obsessing over the company Demeter for a long time now. It's understandable when they have scent names such as "Dirt" "Thunderstorm" and "Gin and Tonic

I finally found a couple on Ebay. Sex On The Beach and Wild Blackberries. Wild Blackberries hasn't got here yet but I hope to god I like it more than Sex On The Beach.

I won't go too much into it now as I'm going to be reviewing them soon. Lets just say I'm not as happy with it as I had hoped!

Today I also Picked up some Magazines.

Marie Claire and Instyle.

Marie Claire this month are giving away:
  • A free 30ml L'Occitane Hand Cream *four scents to choose from* I choose Mango Flower. It smells gorgeous!
  •  50ml tube of Dove Colour Radiance Conditioner.

InStyle are giving free 4ml samples of Benefit products you have a choice of :

  • Cha Cha Tint
  • Sun Beam
  • Benetint

Also last week I made a post asking you all what your favourite perfume was,  I had some amazing comments so I just want to say thank you very much ladies!

I now have a good idea on what my next few perfume purchases will be!

You may have also noticed from the first picture a box of Galaxy Minstrels.....what can I say? It just had to be done ;-)

Hope you have all had a great day!

REVIEW - The Body Shop - Candied Ginger Body Scrub

Hullo Lovely Ladies

Now we are in the colder months, I seem to be gravitating towards warmer and sweeter scents again and this product is one of my favourites.

I have a big love for the spices like ginger and cinnamon: in my food, in my perfume even in my bath and skincare products.

The ingredients include Ginger Root Extract and Community Fair Trade Cocoa Butter.

The ginger gives it that lovely spicy bite and the cocoa butter sweetens it but not too much for it to become sickly or artificial.

It smells like home baking to me. Which is very comforting :-)

I use this as a scrub just before I get in the bath so all that goodness soaks in before I wash it all off :-)

It's not a harsh scrub and is very creamy so it can be used on a daily basis.

This is on clearance at the moment on the UK website for £3 so go pick it up now!!

I hope they keep making this product as I'll probably buy it for the rest of my life if I could :-)

Have you tried this body scrub? Love it or Hate it?

What's your Favourite Perfumes?

Hullo Lovely Ladies

My addiction for perfumes seems to have come back in full force.

I'm looking for a new perfume to try out, doesn't matter if its celebrity or designer I just want to get my hand on something new.

So...me being the nosy girl that I am, I'm wondering what is your favourite perfumes?

I usually go for sweet and warm scents but I'm also partial to clean fruity scents too.

Some of my favourite scents are Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose, Armani Code, Britney's Midnight Fantasy and The Body Shop's Love Ect...

I found an awesome site called fragrantica.com that lets you type what ever perfume your interested in and it gives you the notes and lot's a reviews.

So If you could be so kind as to leave a comment saying what some of your favourites perfumes are I'd be really thankfull :-)
