REVIEW - The Body Shop - Candied Ginger Body Butter

Hullo Lovely Ladies

So we all know I have a love for The Body Shop's Candied Ginger Body scrub so after raving about it for months last year I decided to buy some of the other products in the range once they were on sale again.

I managed to pick up the body butter and hand cream this past summer and now its getting colder I've decided to start reviewing them!

The texture of this butter is thick and creamy and sinks into the skin very quickly just like most if not all Body Shop body butters :-)

I have to say that scent wise I was slightly disappointed. I was expecting this to be like the body scrub, spicy yet sweet. To me this is more of a fresh, sharp ginger scent instead of the promised "candied" ginger scent.

It's still a nice ginger scent and can be worn all year round without feeling weird or out of place.

It's not an overpowering fragrance and doesn't last too long. About thirty minutes on the skin.

I remember watching a review on youtube of this product back last year and the reviewer was commenting on how a friend told her it smelt like Vicks and I can kind of understand that comment, it certainly has the balmy "good for you" undertone to it. Which sometimes I actually like :-P

This is definitely a hydrating body butter and does dry skin wonders! Leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth without being greasy at all.

It contains Ginger Root Extract and is Paraben Free :-)

If you're looking to add to you body butter collection and you like that fresh ginger bite then this is a good moisturiser to pick up. Would I repurchase? No. Just because I have so many others that I prefer. I think it's a good deal though as it's often on sale.

Right now you can get it and the rest of the Candied Ginger Range from The Body Shop's clearance for a great price!

Have you tried this body butter? Love it or Hate it??

Hair & Perfume Haul (Andrew Barton & Demeter)

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

So earlier this week I went food shopping in Asda and noticed that Andrew Barton Hair Care was on sale, everything in the range was £3 each.

I've loved Andrew Barton's "The Straight Answer Hot Iron Protection Spray" for awhile now, my aunty first introduced me to it and I fell in love with how it smelt. It's a very tropical, pina colada scent :-)

So I picked up another bottle whilst it was on sale!

I also needed a new Shampoo and Conditioner as I've run out of my Herbal Essence.

I was immediately attracted to the colour of the bottle and that it was for coloured hair.

I've been colouring my hair since I was about 13 years old and I really notice how long the colour lasts if you use hair products that are aimed for dyed hair!

I also picked up this "Frizz Tamer Magical Leave In Conditioner"

I've always wanted to try a leave in conditioner but because of my oily hair I was slightly frightened to pay a high price for one that I was going to through out after my first use. As this was quite inexpensive I thought I would give it a chance. I also love how attractive and professional the packaging is :-)

I used them all last night and I'm going to be reviewing soon!

Also a perfume came in the post this week, it was the second Demeter fragrance I had ordered from Ebay. In my last haul I told you how disappointed I was in the first one I bought which was called "Sex On The Beach" but I actually really like this scent!

This is part of their Jelly Belly range, I absolutely love Jelly Belly sweets so I was really excited to try this "Wild Blackberry Peach Cobbler" cologne spray. I'm so glad I bought this one!

So thats my small haul!

Have you tried the Andrew Barton Hair Products??

Eau My Giddy God - Michael Kors - Very Hollywood EDP

Looking back on my "Perfume Loving" history, Michael Kors Very Hollywood should be a scent that I pretty much hate but for some reason I find myself falling deeper and deeper in love with it.

Floral Perfumes have never really been my thing. I'm more of a "Sweet N Spicy" kind of girl.

I picked this up on my birthday after I received a Boots voucher from a friend  It was already half price so I picked it up.

The Notes to this perfume are :

Top - Mandarin Orange, Bergamot and Raspberry
Middle - Orris Root, Gardenia, Ylang Ylang and Jasmine
Base - Amber, Oakmoss and Vetiver

When first applied I really notice the white floral notes; Jasmine and Gardenia as well as the freshness from the Mandarin Orange.

I think it's the freshness from the fruit and white flowers that allow me to love this perfume. The name fits it well as It's a very glamorous scent.

It's one I think would be great for special occasions like weddings and parties.

The lasting power of this perfume is a good three hours on my skin but a lot more when sprayed on clothing.

In fact what I love to do is spray it on the scatter cushions on my bed and my curtains because it makes my room smell gorgeous for days!

Packaging wise I think it's stunning, it looks very expensive and chic. Giving an antique vibe. The actual fragrance is a pink colour which just makes it even more pretty.

I love the way the glass is cut and how stamp-like the lid is.

The only thing I will warn you about if you're thinking of buying it without trying first, don't be fooled by the fruity top notes. This is very much a Floral perfume.

I can't find it on the Boot's website at the moment but I would go check in your local store to see if they still have it.

The Perfume Shop have the 30ml on offer at the moment for £16.99 - Here

You can also find it on Amazon and Ebay :-)

Have you tried Very Hollywood? Love it or hate it?

Recent Haul (10/10/12) Boots, New Look & Magazine Freebies

Hullo Lovely Ladies!!

So this is my most recent haul post.

Today  I went shopping with the family to pick up some things...It wasn't long before we all realised we were searching for the same thing....perfume! We ended up spending most of the day in Boots. Which I have no problem with as its a favourite hobby of mine to try to test every fragrance in the store :-)

They have some amazing perfume offers on at the moment so I suggest you go take a look here if you're on the lookout for a new one :-)

I picked up this Giorgio Armani perfume called Idole d'Armani

It's a gorgeous scent. It was also half price!

I bought the 50ml EDP for £29

My Mam and Nan both picked up Anais Anais which was also on offer :-)

We stopped in New Look which I have to say is one of my favourite clothing stores. I'm always buying something from there.

Sadly they didn't have a lot of sale products left in the store but me and my mam noticed they had a good deal on socks. As it's getting colder now, socks are a must for me.

You get to pick 3 pairs you like for just £4.

I also did some Ebay shopping last weekend and one of the product came in the post this morning.

I've been obsessing over the company Demeter for a long time now. It's understandable when they have scent names such as "Dirt" "Thunderstorm" and "Gin and Tonic

I finally found a couple on Ebay. Sex On The Beach and Wild Blackberries. Wild Blackberries hasn't got here yet but I hope to god I like it more than Sex On The Beach.

I won't go too much into it now as I'm going to be reviewing them soon. Lets just say I'm not as happy with it as I had hoped!

Today I also Picked up some Magazines.

Marie Claire and Instyle.

Marie Claire this month are giving away:
  • A free 30ml L'Occitane Hand Cream *four scents to choose from* I choose Mango Flower. It smells gorgeous!
  •  50ml tube of Dove Colour Radiance Conditioner.

InStyle are giving free 4ml samples of Benefit products you have a choice of :

  • Cha Cha Tint
  • Sun Beam
  • Benetint

Also last week I made a post asking you all what your favourite perfume was,  I had some amazing comments so I just want to say thank you very much ladies!

I now have a good idea on what my next few perfume purchases will be!

You may have also noticed from the first picture a box of Galaxy Minstrels.....what can I say? It just had to be done ;-)

Hope you have all had a great day!

REVIEW - The Body Shop - Candied Ginger Body Scrub

Hullo Lovely Ladies

Now we are in the colder months, I seem to be gravitating towards warmer and sweeter scents again and this product is one of my favourites.

I have a big love for the spices like ginger and cinnamon: in my food, in my perfume even in my bath and skincare products.

The ingredients include Ginger Root Extract and Community Fair Trade Cocoa Butter.

The ginger gives it that lovely spicy bite and the cocoa butter sweetens it but not too much for it to become sickly or artificial.

It smells like home baking to me. Which is very comforting :-)

I use this as a scrub just before I get in the bath so all that goodness soaks in before I wash it all off :-)

It's not a harsh scrub and is very creamy so it can be used on a daily basis.

This is on clearance at the moment on the UK website for £3 so go pick it up now!!

I hope they keep making this product as I'll probably buy it for the rest of my life if I could :-)

Have you tried this body scrub? Love it or Hate it?

I know...I went a bit overboard but I just couldn't stop myself!

I'm looking for a new book to read, any suggestions??
