Early Onset Alzheimer's and Living With It.

Hi Guys!

Now I'm no doctor so I'm terribly sorry if anything I write in this post is wrong in some way or offensive to some people. I just want to talk about what my family has been going through these last few years.

On the 18th of August this year my mother was officially diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's disease.

She is 45 years old.

My family has a lot of history with Alzheimer's disease. When my mother was younger than I am now, she lost her father, her aunt and her uncle to Early On Set Alzheimer's Disease. In a few short years she had lost a big important chunk of her family.

It was around six years ago when we started noticing a difference with my mother. I remember her repeating herself a lot and having to write down everything she had to do that day. For a long time none of us did anything about it because a few years before this she had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and we had been told that it came with slight memory loss. We told ourselves that it was just that, we had nothing to worry about.

Then when I turned eighteen. I finished a college course and started looking for work. There wasn't much around so I ended up spending a lot of my time at home with my mam. I began noticing her getting worse and worse and one day she left the house to go to the opticians. I remember getting worried because she'd been gone for awhile, I rang her mobile and when she answered, she told me she couldn't find the car. I told her to stay were she was and I phoned my father to go pick her up. He found her easily but that night we decided as a family to go to the doctors the next morning.

It took them a long time to diagnose her, the doctor we were given in the beginning was useless and we just kept going around in circles. Then at the beginning of this year we went back to our GP and told him that we weren't happy with the doctor she was under and he was shocked to find that they had no records of any tests the memory doctor had given her. So our GP told us that she needed to see a neurologist. It took another six months to get the appointment.

He diagnosed her within two hours of meeting her.

Even though my whole family at that point had come to there own conclusion of what was going on it was still a kick in the teeth when we were told. It's funny, even though my mother has been diagnosed with this horrible disease. I have this fear that the doctors are going to say they were wrong and take the diagnosis away. How fucked up is that? All I can figure from it is that at least now we know, I hate the fact that she has this disease but at least now we know what we're fighting against. I would never wish the limbo of not knowing on anyone. It was the worst time of my life.

I've been officially caring for my mam now for about two years because we realized that someone needed to be with her at all times.

What I've come to understand these last few years is that unsurprisingly a lot of the time the movies get it wrong and you can't really understand this disease unless you see it up close and personal. Until the day comes when you realize that someone you love and respect has lost the ability to write, to drive, to cut up their food, to get dressed or even say a complete sentence without muddling up their words.

So that's all I want to say about it for now, I've kept it quite for a long time. Longer than I should have.

You know what though? A day doesn't go by that me and my mam don't laugh our arses off. I think that's how we've gotten through what we have so far. She's still my best friend and she always will be.

Love You Mam x

Eau My Giddy God - Issey Miyake - Pleats Please EDT

Hullo Ladies!

I've been super busy this month so I have hardly posted anything lately but I thought I'd write up a perfume review as I seem to be obsessed with collecting perfumes again!

This is a new favourite of mine called Pleats Please by Issey Miyake.

I received a sample earlier in the year and fell in love instantly but I had so many perfumes to go through that I didn't allow myself to buy a new one.

Finally about a month ago I finished a few bottles around the same time so I made a few sneaky orders and Pleats Please was one of them.

I bought the 50ml bottle from Amazon for a great price so I suggest having a look on there :-)

I would call this a unique floral scent. It's so hard to explain because I've never smelt anything like it.

The notes are - Sweet Pea, Pear, Peony, Musk, Indole, Vanilla, Cedar and Patchouli.

It's long lasting and has great silage so I've had many complements when wearing it.

It also develops beautifully over time and I can honestly say it's one of my favourite perfumes right now.

Have you tried this perfume? What's your favourite right now?

Makeup Revolution Haul

Hullo Ladies!

A few weeks ago I made a Superdrug order to try out the famous Makeup Revolution Brand that I've heard so much about recently.

It's a new inexpensive brand that much talked about lately and I've heard amazing things about the quality so I was super excited to finally give them a go!

The first thing I bought was this Sweet and Spicy Ultra Blush Palette.

It's a gorgeous palette that I've been using a lot lately and I have to say I like each shade!

The other products I bought are from the I Heart Makeup range.

I bought the Blushing Hearts Blusher in Queen Of Candy Hearts and also the Goddess Of Love Highlighter!

As you can see, they look very similar to the Too Faced blushes but I haven't tried those product yet so I couldn't suggest if they were dupes.

Though these are only £4.99 each which is a big price difference from the Too Faced Blushes.

I absolutely adore all the products I've bought from the brand and can't wait to try out more.

The other products in the first photo are samples from Superdrug that came with my purchase :-)

Have you tried the brand yet?

What do you think?

EBAY Bargain : Refillable Perfume Atomizer

Hullo Ladies!

So most of us would have probably heard about the famous travalo that came out awhile ago, they sounded amazing to me as I'm always afraid to take my expensive perfume out with me for fear of them being broken or lost. The only catch was that they usually ran from about £9.99 to £11.99 which just seemed a bit to steep to me.

So a few weeks ago while looking on ebay I found this store that sells something similar but without the price tag. Instead I paid £1.49!

It took a few weeks to get here but I was so excited when it finally did. It was well worth the wait to me :-)

I decided that the perfume I would put in it was my Chanel Chance as it's one of my favorites but I hardly wear it because I don't like the idea of taking it out with me.

Using it was was easy, all you have to do is take off the spray cap of whatever perfume you want to use, then place the Atomizer above the perfume bottle and push down so that the liquid is pumped into it.

It has a window that shows how much is inside the bottle.

Obviously this perfume atomizer may not be as well made as the Travalo version, which is fair enough and if you want to spend the money on the real thing then that's great. The way I see it though is that even if the atomizer breaks and leaks it's not going to make the mess it would make if it had been the perfume bottle that had leaked. Also it's not going to waste as much perfume either.

It's been in my bag since I received it a couple of days ago and nothings happened since so I'm guessing its quite sturdy. I've purchased a few more from the site which I'll link - Here

I highly recommend them, especially if your a perfume lover like me :-)

I just keep it in my makeup bag as it's around the same size as an average lipstick tube!

I've also had a few people comment on it and I've told them where to go to buy them. I think I'll get a few for some family members around Christmas time as it's quite a useful little thing.

Have you tried these?
Did you buy the real thing or did you go for the bargain like me?

Eau My Giddy God - Jimmy Choo - EDP

Hullo Ladies!

I recently finished off a few perfumes so these last few weeks I've been buying some new fragrances and this Jimmy Choo EDP was one of my first buys as it was already on my wishlist.

I remember trying the EDT version of this back when it first came out and hating it but a few months ago I tried the EDP version and fell in love. I find it a lot sweeter and quite seductive.

The Notes of this perfume are - Toffee, Patchouli, Pear, Orchid and Mandarin.

I can smell the sweet toffee and patchouli which makes this reminiscent of other very famous perfumes like Flowerbomb and La Vie Est Belle but Its unique in it's own way so I think you could definitely own all three and not feel like you'd bought the same fragrance.

I can certainly see why this is such a popular scent, it's got great lasting power and good silage which makes it great for nights out and I've gotten a few compliments in the times I've worn it out by both men and women.

I adore the bottle, it looks amazing on my bedside table with all my other perfumes.

I highly recommend this fragrance and suggest you check it out next time your in a store that stocks it :-)

I bought this 60ml bottle from Amazon for about £28 which is a great bargain!

Have you tried this perfume? what do you think of it?

REVIEW - Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks - Turn On, Anarchy + Shame

Hulla Ladies!

Exciting post for you today :-)

I'm reviewing a few of my new lipsticks which I bought from Feel Unique last month.

The Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks!!! Ta Dah :-)

With a slogan like "Creamy, Badass Luxery" I knew these lipsticks were worth a go but were they worth £15? That's what I was wondering when I first heard about them a few months back. So like everything I contemplate buying I did a quick Google search and came across lots and lots of lovely blog reviews screaming about these gorgeous lippy's

So after deciding that I would buy just one first, to see how I liked them, I searched for a shade that would be easy to wear on a day to day basis but fun all the same as I do like a bright lip. I chose Turn On which is I lovely rosy pink. I loved it on first application, it's creamy, pigmented and so pretty! It would look lovely worn on a daily basis with a nice subtle look or even paired with a smokey eye on a night out.

From Left To Right - Turn On, Anarchy and Shame.

So a few weeks later I noticed Feel Unique had an awesome £10 a £25 spend coupon so I decided to pick up two more.

I chose Anarchy which is a bright fuchsia pink and Shame which is a dark vampy plum/red.

Anarchy is one of the brightest pinks I've ever owned. It's gorgeous and looks stunning matched with a light foundation and winged liner.

Shame is a very dark lipstick. I haven't had much opportunity to wear it. I feel sexy as hell when I do wear it though. I can't wait for the Autumn/Winter to get here so I can play around with it more.

From Left To Right - Turn On, Anarchy and Shame.

All of the ones I've tried so far are great quality. They're pigmented, moisturizing and long lasting.

The only one I could say I had a slight problem with was Shame, It did grab on to any dry areas on my lips so I suggest you use your favourite lip balm before applying.

They all leave a lovely even stain with is nice if you hate re-applying as you can stick with the berry stained lips look or quickly apply a lip balm or gloss to revive it.

The packaging is also stunning, it's so sleek and pretty. It looks expensive but is still subtle. It doesn't look gaudy and over done like some lipstick packages.

I can't recommend these enough. I'm hoping to get a few more when I get that chance. I love the look of Bang and Catfight :-)

Like I said earlier in the review these go for £15 each but I suggest you do what I do and go snooping for a Feel Unique code!

Have you tried these lipsticks yet? What do you think of them?

Latest Additions to my Perfume Collection

Hullo Ladies!

I recently finished up a few of my perfumes so I decided to invest in some new fragrances in the last couple of weeks.

I finished up my Oh Lola by Marc Jacobs, my Vera Wang Princess and a few of my Body Shop EDT's. I wouldn't say I go though perfumes exceptionally quick, my Auntie can go through a 100ml bottle of Tommy Girl in just a few short weeks. I'm not that bad but I do seem to find myself running out of a couple of my favorites every four or five months or so.

Before I buy a perfume I always check on Amazon to see what is on there. I know a lot of people fear using amazon because of fakes but I always buy directly from Amazon themselves and not from an independent buyer. I've never received a bottle that way and thought it might be a fake, so I highly suggest it if you buy perfumes quite regularly like me because you can save a lot of money that way.

The first perfume I bought is the Jimmy Choo EDP

I've tried this perfume out numerous times in Boot's but I never seem to find it on offer there so I had a look on Amazon and the 60ml EDP was £27 which is a bargain :-)

Like many popular fragrances out at the moment this is a sweet patchouli scent. It contains notes of Mandarin, Patchouli, Toffee, Pear and Orchid.

In the same week I bought the Jimmy Choo perfume I noticed on the Boot's website that they had the Marc Jacobs Daisy Delight perfume on offer. As I'd just finished my Marc Jacobs perfume and I've always wanted Daisy I decided to go for it!

It's still on offer on the Boot's website right now for £29.66.

This is a fresh, fruity floral perfume that contains notes of Quince, Apple, Sandlewood, Cedar and Freesia.

The next scent I bought is Pleats Please by Issey Miyake

I recieved a sample of this months ago with a Feel Unique order and I new straight away that I had to own it next time I finished a few bottles. It's a gorgeous sophisticated light fragrance.

Again I bought this on Amazon for £23.99

This perfume is a fruity floral that contains notes of Sweet Pea, Pear, Gardenia, Patchouli, Musk and Vanilla.

Another fragrance I bought from Amazon is Taylor Swift Enchanted Wonderstruck.

I love the original Wonderstruck and when I noticed the 50ml bottle on offer for £15 I decided to pick it up. It similar to Wonderstruck but sweeter.

It has notes of Vanilla, Wild Berries, Sugar, Passion Fruit and Woody Notes.

The last perfume I bought was the one I wanted for the longest.

Dolce & Gabbana The One

This is a stunningly warm and comfortable scent that would be great for winter days and nights out. I bought the 50ml bottle on Amazon for about £32

Some of the notes in the perfume are Vanilla, Peach, Litchi, Bergamot and Jasmine.

It's both womanly and sophisticated and I love it :-)

So those are my new perfumes. I went overboard but perfume is one of those things that I love to splurge on and when I have a horrible day it's nice to go home and treat myself to something nice.

All these perfume were bought by myself, I know this post probably sounds like an ad for Amazon or something but I promise it's not!

What perfume have you bought recently? Or have you been drooling after something special?
