REVIEW - The Body Shop - Sweet Lemon Body Butter

Hullo Lovely Ladies!

So If any of you read my blog on a regular basis you may know that I'm in love with The Body Shop Body Butters.

Today I'm going to review the first Body Butter I bought.

At the time I really researched into what body butters and scrubs people loved most and a favourite scrub that everyone seemed to be talking about was the Sweet Lemon.

I went online to order it but they had sold out, but by that time I was really excited to try out the scent so I ordered to Body Butter instead.

As soon as It got here I tried it out, I liked it fine but it was a bit bitter for my taste, I wouldn't say it was "sweet" at all.

That doesn't mean that it is not a great body butter though, I found my dry skin improved greatly after a few days use.

It's one of their thicker butters but sinks right into your skin.

It's for Normal to Dry skin and I find it very beneficial to those pesky dry areas like my arms and elbows.

Back to the scent I find it to be quite powerful especially if your slathering it all over your body.

I didn't mind all too much but I received a few remarks from family members about it and realized that some people just don't like the smell of lemons, so I wouldn't pick this up if your frightened about wearing fragrances that might offend people, go for something like the Shea butter instead :-)

Not long after I bought this I purchased some more Body Butters and forgot all about this product. Keeping it at the bottom of my Skin Care box.

I didn't think I would be using it again and was about to give it away when I got ill.

I had the winter flu and couldn't smell anything without feeling sick for at least a week.

This felt even more horrendous because the week before was a Body Butter sale and I had purchased five of them! I couldn't even look at them when they got here without feeling ill.

Surprisingly the Sweet Lemon Butter was the only scent I could handle and even made me feel better, lemons are often used to control nausea and I found this to work wonders.

So I keep this around for the days where I'm craving something a bit sharper and feeling unwell. Its strange but it works. :-)

Will I purchase this again? Hmm...If it was in a amazing sale...yeah ...but I can't imagine going through the tub I have now any time soon :-)

I do like this body butter for hydration but I would suggest you try it out in store first, everyone reacts different to scents.

A bit of a mixed review but I like to say what I really think :-)

So what do you think of the Sweet Lemon Body Butter? I really want to try the Scrub at some point :-) Is it any good?

REVIEW- The Body Shop - Wild Cherry Body Butter

Hello Ladies,

Hope your all having a great Friday and looking forward to the weekend.

Sometimes I buy a product and it takes me months to grow to love it. It could be anything, a nail polish, new pair of heels and even some body butters :-)

I love body butters, at one point The Body Shop body butters where a small obsession of mine :-)

Right now I have eight of them but at one point I did have twelve. I know.... I really am ashamed!

Just before Christmas they had one of their Secret Sales and I decided to get a few more Body Butters which at the time where down to £5 each and I also had a a voucher which gave me a certain amount off so yes a went a little crazy. I ended up buying five. Wild Cherry, Passion fruit, Almond, Brazil Nut and Blueberry.

Then all hell broke loose...I got the flu! *Pause for dramatic effect ;-)*

Like many people, some scents can really make me worse when I'm ill but sometimes it stays with me for the longest time. I still can't eat a chocolate chip muffin or have beef on my roast dinner without feeling ill :-(

So I ended up giving the Passion Fruit, Blueberry and Brazil Nut to my Nan because I just couldn't use them, they smelt terrible to me. I kept the Wild Cherry and Almond because they where the ones that I found I could cope with.

Then out of the blue I got a craving for the Wild Cherry, I was watching a haul video, sadly I can't remember who buy, where the young girl had just bought the Wild Cherry Body Butter and loved it. So I decided to give it another chance and boy am I glad I did!

To me it smells just like Cherry Bakewell's only stronger, It's that very sweet, jammy smell.

Probably not something I could wear daily like my beloved Shea Butter but definitely when I'm craving something sweet :-)

I bought it in the 200ml and they seem to last me ages :-)

At full price Body Butters are £12.50 which I find too steep so I wait for the sales, where I have actually seen them come down to just £3 each :- )

The Body Shop put their Body Butters in groups, they range from Normal Skin - Normal/Dry  - Very Dry Skin. Wild Cherry is for normal skin.

Do you love The Body Shop Body Butters? Which is your favorite scent?

Thanks,
Linzi xx

The Body Shop Body Butters

                                                                            Hello!

The Body Shop Body Butters are amazing to me, I've collected a few over the years, have smelt probably everyone they have made and these are soem of my favorites.

Satsuma Body Butter

This is my all time favorite smelling body butter, but its for normal skin so not the best for my-very-dry- and- in- need -of- top moisture- skin sadly but I still use it every chance I get :)

Sweet Lemon Body Butter

Nice but not sweet smelling enough for me I find it very sharp for my tastes but for some reason I love using it when I'm under the weather. Probably because It's the only thing I can smell that doesnt turn me ill.

Mango Body Butter

This is my second tub, I love the smell and find it really refreashing. It's for very dry skin which is great for me and i find that if I use it constantly for a few week's thats when my skin  is at its best. So I try to always have some at home :)

Almond Body Butter

This is one of my least Favorite smells, I had many fruity body butter and wanted something sweet but I bought this when It was on offer online with out actually smelling it. I also bought the Passion fruit, Brazil Nut and Blueberry that day and I disliked them all. Lucky I got them on sale because now my nan uses them for her feet!

Wild Cherry Body Butter

This is a nice smelling body butter but it's not one I would repurchase. It's for normal skin so not the best moisturiser for me but good when you want something a little bit different smelling.

Shea Body Butter

This is another I have gone through and bought again, It's great because it's extreamly moisturizing but also not too strongly fragranced so it messes with your perfume. This is one I wear out in the evening or when I'm going somewhere and I want someone to smell my perfume :) Also I got my two tubes of this for only £1 each when The body Shop had them on offer, if you spent a certain amount you could pick one out of three body butters for just a £1! Bargain!

Vanilla Body Butter

This is my newest Body Butter and I had it free with my last order from there online store, It was good luck because at the same time I was buying there Vanilla EDT, so I use this to layer the perfume to make the scent last longer. This is one of they're new Body Butters, they give you two seperate butters, one thats for dry skin and one thats for normal. Making it easier for you because your able to use the same moisturizer for your whole body.
