REVIEW - The Body Shop - Satsuma Body Mist

Hullo!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Mine has been real relaxing although I did manage to frighten myself last night by reading Battle Royale :-(

It's a great book but it's a big step from my usual romance filled novels!

Okay..onto the review :-)

So back last month The Body Shop came out with these new Body Mists.

They have a whole range of different scents featuring the juicy Mango and summery Coconut.

I picked up the Satsuma as its my favourite scent from The Body Shop.

It's very refreshing and I find it's good when you want a fresh "wake me up" fragrance.

Anyway...this is an honest review, so I'm not going to lie to you.

I'm very disappointed with this product.

It's all about the staying power and sadly after five minutes I can't smell it anymore.

Not on my skin or on my clothes. Which is quite depressing as It's such a lovely, natural scent when first applied and it was be amazing if it could last.

I couldn't believe it when I was reading reviews online and the reviewer was saying they were having a good 4 -8 hours lasting power. Is mine faulty or something? I just can't understand it.

Okay.... so I could layer it with my Satsuma Body Butter but to me it's pointless as the body mist isn't doing anything for me. I might as well skip it and just use the butter.

Maybe the other scents have more staying power and at some point I may try them out but it's safe to say I wont be buying the Satsuma again.

The price is £7 for 100ml and because I'm spraying it constantly, it's getting used up fairly quickly.

I do like the packaging, which a lot of people where complaining about as they wouldn't be able to carry it around in their handbag as it's glass.

I don't find that an issue as I carry around my over perfume bottles is my hand bag and haven't had any trouble with them before.

All in all I'm not impressed, the quality for me just isn't up to scratch with the rest of The Body Shop products :-(

Which is upsetting as I've never had any trouble with The Body Shop before.

Have you tried this product? Do you disagree with me on the staying power?

Eau My Giddy God - The Body Shop - Vanilla

Hullo Lovely People!!

It's been some time since I wrote a "Eau My Giddy God" post, so I though I would do one for you all today
 :-)

I seem to be slowly collecting all The Body Shops fragrances, they now have the Strawberry perfume back out, though I have only seen it in one of their sets.

I've read about it before on the interweb but have never seen it on their website so I'm looking forward to trying it out!!!

This is their very popular Vanilla Eau De Toilette.

It's been a best seller for a long time now and I'm not surprised .

This is probably the sweetest fragrance I have ever smelt.

It's a true vanilla scent with notes of coconut.

I don't really pick up the Coconut notes as the Vanilla really takes over.

This is a great scent for those who love sweet fragrances and It's slightly more grown up than most sweeter scents on the market.

I wouldn't buy it for someone who I knew liked a more subtle fragrance as this is quite a strong scent, not over powering but it's going to last a long time on you, especially if sprayed onto clothing.

My mother hates me wearing it though as she's not a fan of anything with Vanilla in as it gives her a headache, which is one thing you should think about when purchasing as vanilla can be quite an offending scent to many people.

I only really like wearing it around the Holiday season as it reminds me of Christmas for some reason.

This product is priced at £9 for 30ml.

I picked  it up on sale for less than £5 which is really affordable if you think about the prices you pay for perfumes in places like Boot's or Superdrug.

The only thing about this product that irritates the hell out of me is the packaging, I love the sleek bottle but the cap is horrible. It's quite small and when you place it onto the bottle it scrapes against the metal and gives me goosebumps!!  I guess I can deal with it though :-)

The Body Shop frequently have offers on so have a look on voucher websites to see which is the best deal.

Have you tried any fragrances from The Body Shop??

New Haul - The Body Shop, N-SPA + more

Hullo Everyone!

Hmmm... I've been a very naughty girl and have made a few purchases lately.

So last week I realized that The Body Shop where gonna end their sale soon so I thought...why not pick up a few extra bits!!

Also they had a great voucher code where you could get 30% off everything including the things in the sale!!!

The Body Shops Seasonal Body Butters in Candied Ginger and Spiced Vanilla.

These butters where originally £12.50 - down to £3 in Sale -- down to £2.40  with the code.

I'm keeping these for the Winter...Hah...doesn't feel like it left!

I'm determined to use up some of my more fruity based scents before I start on these!

The Body Shops Seasonal Hand Creams in Candied Ginger and Spiced Vanilla

Original price is £3 Each - Sale - £1.50  - Code - 70p

The Body Shop Shower Gels/ Cream in Satsuma, Coconut and Strawberry.

I can't remember what these where in the sale but this is what it says on the invoice.

Original Price - £12.00 - Sale + Code - £5.25

Hemp  Foot, Hand and Body Trio Gift Set

Original price - £15.00 - Sale  - £10 - Code - £8

This mini bottle of Pink Grapefruit was free with any purchase made at the time. It leaked in the bag and now my hand creams bottles smell of bitter grapefruit :-(  Hate it when that happens!!!

So that's the end of my Body Shop Haul!

My favourite purchases where the shower gels, I made sure to choose scents that I knew I loved!

All in all I payed £29.95 which I think is brilliant for what I got!

Sadly the sale has finished now but that's not to say they haven't still got some great deals going on so go check out their website here.

Now onto what I picked up in Asda's today!

I wasn't too excited about the magazine freebies this month but I am having problems with spots on my face at the moment so I felt like trying a new product. I picked the 50ml
Face Wash from Balance Me that Glamour are giving away at the moment.

Even though I would have chosen it anyway I didn't really have a choice. There was lots of Glamour magazines but with big holes in the packing where the products had been taken out!! What a cheek!

I also noticed that N-Spa have changed their packaging!! No wonder I picked up that scrub a few weeks ago for just 50p, they where getting rid!

I picked up the Mango Body Butter and Raspberry Body Lotion, great for when the sun finally comes out!!

I love what they have done to the range, It's much more fun! The scents are wonderful like always and they have also brought out some new products such as lip balms and body sprays!!

I couldn't resit trying out the body sprays, the only ones there was Raspberry and Passion fruit.

They both smell amazing, I'm going to be doing a review/comparison on them with the Boot's Natural Collection body sprays soon!!!

Everything from N-SPA was on offer -  £3 each  or two products for £4

I also picked this up from Amazon the other day, I've heard a lot about the benefits of Aloe Vera Gel for the skin. From Bloggers talking about how it helps with plucking the eyebrows to how to apply it to minor burns which my Gran used to do for me and my brother when we were younger! I picked this up for just £4 and it's a big 200ml bottle!

So that's my haul!

Did any of you take advantage of The Body Shop Sale???

Hope you all have had a great day!

GOSH Clearance Haul *Special Find!*

Hullo Lovely People!!

Today I did a little Superdrug trip and noticed that they had put a heck load of GOSH products in their clearance bin again!!!

I was in heaven...I wanted everything! I managed to calm down and just get the things I really liked.

This post is actually made up of two different shopping trips though so first I want to talk about the products I picked up last week :-)

Last week I found these two goodies in the clearance box, at the time it was the last of the lip jams and nail polishes.

I picked up the nail polish in GOLD and the Lip Jam in 103.

I used the gold in a recent NOTD and I love it. It's a very smooth, almost metallic gold with a slight gold shimmer running through it.

I haven't opened the lip jam yet as its not for me ;-)

Going to the counter I noticed that the lady had seemed to over charge me so I asked which one was £5 and she told me it was the polish. I told her that I had found it in the bin and she said that someone must have put it in by mistake. I was going to leave it there when she was trying to make me pay full price but when she noticed that I was going to leave the shop without it she knocked it down to clearance price. So the lip jam was 99p and the polish £1.99.

Today The basically had just filled up the clearance boxes with GOSH products. One box was full of nail polish and eyeliner - everything in that box was £2 each. The other was eye shadow trios and lipsticks - everything in that box was £3 each.

I pcked up a Velvet Touch Lipstick in Romantic, It a tawny coral colour. Very Unique. As it was sealed I didn't see the colou before I bought it and was quite disappointed untill I tried it on. It's really very lovely. Quite conservative.

I will do some swatches for you soon :-)

I think these must be the newest version of GOSH polishes as they have names running along their sides instead of on the cap.

Pool Party - Bright Teal
Night Kiss - Deep Black Red
Gold - Metallic Gold

The other colours are:

Deep Purple - Dark Purple
Nero - Black
Magic Star - Glitter Top Coat

Okay...okay...calm down.... That is Holographic you can also see up there.....

Ahh I was so excited, it looked a bit yucky when I picked it up but I rolled it between my hands for awhile in the shop and it was perfect again!! I've already tried it on!

It just looks like a boring silver in the bottle but on the nail it's amazing!

I've been so lucky lately with my GOSH finds. First Rainbow, now this!

Find anything Great on clearance lately??

MAC - Lipstick - Show Orchid

Hullo!

Today I want to talk about another MAC lipstick that I own.

Show Orchid is an Amplified lipstick that comes out in a few collections every so often, apparently its available at Pro Stores but I've never even seen one of those where I'm from so the only time I would be able to repurchase Is to wait for it to become available in another collection.

I picked up this lipstick in last years Fall Colour Collection along with Violetta which I wanted for my Halloween  "Sexy Witch" look ;-)

Its very creamy and pigmented.

Its very vibrant and has a slight purple Iridescence in it which I think you can really pick up on in the photo.

I'n the photo I'm wearing it quite lightly and you can easily be more heavy handed to make a dramatic lip.

I love this colour, although I usually go for my other MAC pink lipstick which is Girl About Town as I'm actually frightened I'm going to use it all up!

I don't understand why the don't just put it in the permanent line as so many people love it. :-(

I've noticed with a lot of Amplified Creams they have great staying power, and stain the lips giving my lips a lovely pink look even when the lipstick has vanished :-)

Although I'm the kinda girl who doesn't mind re-applying lipstick on a night out...just another reason for all us ladies to gossip in the toilets!

As a lipstick addict it's also nice to see what everyone else is wearing on their lips too. Hehehe.

Oh My God I sound like such a stalker...I'm not I promise ;-)

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend!
