NOTD - Nails Inc - Tate

Hullo Ladies!

Hope your all having a great Sunday!

I'm wearing this sexy little thing today :-)

It's Tate from Nails Inc, you may have noticed that I'm obsessed with them lately and this polish was one of the firsts I purchased.

I bought it in a magazine back about six months ago.

Back then I applied it on one nail and hated it.

For some reason It just didn't go on right and at the times I was all for the bright colours so a dark red really wasn't my thing.

I haven't touched it since, until last night.

I was watching something on the telly and noticed how amazing the leading lady looked with her dark red polish.

It's such a sexy statement polish.

I was worried about the application at first but I didn't have any trouble, I have a feeling this is because I am much better at applying than I was six months ago when I first tried it :-)

For this polish I applied my usual Barry M 3 in 1 base coat, two coats of Tate and Seche Vite top coat.

Hope you have all had a great weekend, I'm off to watch a movie with the family now!

The Body Shop Secret Sale Haul

Hullo Lovely ladies!!

Earlier in the week I posted about The Body Shop's secret sale which they do every so often.

So as soon as I had a chance I placed an order online and I managed to pick up some lovely things to show you :-)

My lovely bag of goodies!!

I also found out the my Love Your Body 10% discount still worked on the sale items which is amazing!

I can't wait to try them all out and do some reviews :-)

"Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo"

I have heard many things about this product so I can't wait to see if it works.

£6 for 400ml

"Fuzzy Peach Bath and Shower Gel"

Was £4...down to £2 but with my LYB membership I bought it for £1.80

"Raspberry Ripple Bath and Shower Gel"

Was £4...down to £2 but with my LYB membership I bought it for £1.80

"Satsuma Body Mist"

£7

I love it already! Can't wait to try some of the others I have a feeling I'm going to want them all just like the Body Butters!

"Candied Ginger Body Scrub"

I bought this for Christmas last year and fell in love with the range, they smell so good!

Ginger has always been one of my favourite scents as I like the mix of sweet and spicy scents :-)

As soon as I opened this tub all the memories of christmas came back to me which was strange when we are in the middle of June but who cares because....... It was originally £12.50  but was just £3 in the sale!! Yay!

"Limited Edition White Musk Sun Glow Eau De Toilette 60ml"

Was £15 down to £7.50 but with LYB I bought it for £6.75

"Smokey Eyes Palette in Silver Black"

Was £14...bought it for £4.50

All of them are powder shadows except the silver colour which has a mousse texture to it! You also receive a mini brush and mini eyeliner in black, I already have the same full size eyeliner which I picked up in the latest InStyle magazine...but you can never have too many of them!

So all these products together should have cost me just over £30 even after the sale but searching the interweb I found a voucher that gives you £10 off a £30 spend!!

So I ended up paying only £20 :-)

This is why I love The Body Shop....Great quality and they nearly always have discounts going on!

Did you get anything form the sale?

Tuxedo Nail Art Fail :P

Hullo Ladies!

I've been searching though the photos on my camera today and found pictures of some old manicures that I had forgotten about!

This one I tried to do when watching the Eurovision, I had spotted a picture like it on Google around the same time and loved the idea!

It's one of those mani's that from a distance looks fine but up close falls apart hehe

I really want to try it again at some point to see if I can improve it :-)

I used Barry M Matt White as a base and then Barry M's Black for the detail.

Both are very pigmented polishes, I'm pretty sure it took three coats of the white to get a great, even base. Which isn't so bad for a white colour!

Well I don't think its my best work but I had fun which is what counts!

Have you tried the Tuxedo look before?

Swatches of GOSH's Rainbow Nail Polish

 Hullo Ladies!

I managed to pick up a bottle of GOSH's Rainbow nail polish yesterday so as soon as I got it home I put it on and here's what it looked like!

I applied it on over Nails Inc's West Hampstead which is a dark purple so that It would stand out and I loved the effect it gave!

It looks gorgeous :-)

It's aptly named, as your nails change all different colours when touched by different lights.

I can't wait to see what effect it gives on different nail polishes.

I'm so happy I found it in the clearance box.

  Find any great bargains lately?

Testing The Hype! - Bourjois - Magic Nail Polish Remover

Hullo ladies!

So a few weeks ago I picked up this Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover.

I was slightly outraged by the price for 75ml of product but caved as so many people where praising it.

So as soon as I got it home I tried it out and used it to take off my China Glaze For Audrey and took photos for a future review.

I was amazed, it all came off so quickly and what I liked also was the smell it left on my fingers afterwards.

It's a lovely sweet/fruity scent.

So for weeks I used it everyday and even included it in my May's Favourites!

Then this week I noticed that when using it, I was left with a yucky dark mess on my fingers. It was obviously the excess from all the old nail polish that had been soaking into the sponge.

A few days ago I bought Nails Inc's Edinburgh Gate which is a lovely full coverage glitter polish, the day after using it, I used the nail polish remover and something awful happened!

I stuck my nails in, pulled them out and my hands where a mess, I had glitter everywhere!

It took me ages to wash all that glitter off and after some time I decided to try it again but had the same outcome.

Maybe it was because I was using it everyday sometimes more than once, If your only using it once every five - seven days then this would probably be great for you.

"Yucky stuff that came out of the sponge and bottle :-("

Of course, being me I decided that I would simply wash the sponge and bottle and re-use it by pouring another type of nail polish remover into it.

What really got me in the end was when I tried cleaning the sponge all this disgusting "purple" liquid came out  . It looked like the water cup you used to use in art class when you paint in primary school. I was sticking my fingers in that!!!

It just didn't seem hygienic and was just a hassle in the end.

So It went in the bin.

My conclusion.

Great if you paint your nails once a week and don't mind spending the cash but just not worth it if you love painting your nails frequently and don't want to be buying another bottle every 3 - 4 weeks.

I think I'm going to be sticking to my cotton pads and Superdrug's own brand of nail polish remover.

Depressing, I know. After so many people loved it :-(

So have you tried this product? Love it? Hate it?
